Wow fantastic news from Jasper, seems to be various sources indicating the money is there.

I just wish if this was true JL says fuck it, don't sell Bale for any price this season - Maybe next but use him to push for the title.

No point offering us any amount we want to spend and then selling an incredible world class talent when he can seemingly be kept.

I'm really excited for these last few weeks.

If we brought in Lamela, Willian, Coentrao, Capoue, Chaldi, Paulinho and Soldado AND kept Bale. I don't even know how to describe how I'd feel.
You would come!

I think he's referring to a company investing in us that is American based.

Yep i think JL is helping in this :)

Sponsership is key for alot of things in the next 3 years remeber this...... And best way to get a sponsor be a winning team :)

I hate to bring down the mood, but I really hope news like this wont raise our fans' expectations too high. I've already seen people suggesting that we could make 4 or 5 new signings, most of which will be £15m+ a piece, and that was before Jasper's post.

Personally, I'd take keeping Bale, confirming Capoue and signing a left back. It still worries me about players 'settling in' if we sign too many players from different leagues.

Agreed. The first company that comes to mind is Under Armour. They are already an official partner and if they see this as a tie in to the lucrative European market I could see them making a large investment. They are a company known for taking risks and are pushing to increase market share. Just my onion (sorry if that's the wrong usage, I'm just a dumb American :)).

I hope we've told Bale about this ambition of ours
You know, I think we would've told our star player what our ambitions are and having shoen it already with Paulinho and Soldado. I think he knows. Call that ITK if you like.

Aye. If we could become UA's European club like Nike with Barca or Adidas with RM then fine by me. Obviously the figures will be a touch on the lower side but still would give us one of the biggest tie-ups around.

Who knows. We've been tantalised and titillated with Sponsorship mega deal rumours for a decade now. The American angle with UA/HP/both would be a new one and one that at least makes some sense now.

Oh, and as for you being Murikan, you have our deepest sympathies and we'll not hold it against you.

Please don't send a drone to bomb me. It was just a joke.

Ask yourself this. Will Spurs winning the league really make you happy? Really... Pity the man who achieves his dreams and all that.

Nah, im only joking. Of course it fucking will.
Spurs winning the league. What a thoroughly ridiculous contemplation though.

It makes sense. JL can't take his money to his grave and he's no spring chicken. He could go down in history as the man who helped Spurs win the premier league.

Although imagine we had this huge investment and then still didn't get top 4; I couldn't take the shame and ridiculing  :p

I know this isn't the right place for it, but there isn't a thread in general football.

Kane and Carrol have just come on for England U21's if anyone's interested

And Jordan Archer is in goal for Scotland. Although from Edmonton I think he went to school in Muswell Hill. Localish lad.

Anyway, back on track - I'm waiting for JJ to pop in a bring this whole thread back to some form of reality. (y)

So why do you think Willian will be cheaper than Lamela? Anzhi spent £35m on Willian. By all accounts Roma would probably sell Lamela for £30m

Simples anzhi want not have to but want to sell and lamela is not for sale however roma have got a figure which is nearer the £35m mark Willian is transferrable for £28-32m
