The cynic in me, and this is being ultra cynical, is that we've just decided to pay the full amount for Soldado, because there has been developments with Bale. I think we would of ended up paying it anyway, as contradictory as that sounds!

Time to get the appeasement policy well under way

Hopefully not mind. And its being paranoid really, but it would be typical of us to do that lol

All I want is Bale to stay and to get Soldado. Then I'm a happy Spur.

But to sign Soldado and then sell Bale would be like 100 steps forward and 500 back, It just doesn't make sense. And Bale was always a nice, quiet and unassuming player, now apparently he is demanding a move to Real. Has he had a personality transplant over the summer holidays? Very sus :cautious:

I prefer Ali to Billy, though it's the battle of the onions, isn't it?

What has he got 4 years left on his contract? If their offering £86M today they will be offering £86m in two years time. Our position is the strongest it could be and in this situation we cannot lose. And I think or I very much hope if he is happy to stay for one more season then a lot could change over the course of the following season and whats not to say that if we qualify for the CL this year he will not be happy to stay a few more years especially as we will have a new stadium. If he still wants to go next year no problem hopefully we will have CL and we can still get £86m plus, but if it all goes to shit and we don't qualify we still get £86m. Happy Smiley.

True

does seem like some folks have forgotten their truck loads of salt over one "could mean anything" smiley

Just after everyone else just finished praising his status as a great ITK source, reeled off his itk 'successes' and took the :) for Soldado as "deal done".

Salt ok, but are we really that deluded to pick and choose what we do and don't want to hear because we don't like it?

RM are definitely pulling out all the stops and I have been arguing that case for weeks, but even AVB seems to be caving......is there smoke without a fire?

Totally agree Hotie.

However I'm not sure how much of a wobbler Bale would throw. No idea in fact.

What I do know if Levy decides to sell now its because he believes its the right time if a massive offer comes in. He might think his stock will never be so high again. Which could be right, but personally I think it will grow higher even though he'll only have two years left remaining next year if he doesn't sign a new deal.

I know a lot of it is bandwagon rubbish, but I'm a little more worried now.

Is anyone else looking forward to the plethora of amphibian arse gobbery that will litter the back pages of the shit inked tabloid news rags tomorrow?

I bet they use Bail instead of Bale somewhere.... I just got a feeling.

Hope your boy is ok. I know how you feel was in a shocking 4 car pile up on M1 with wife and kids this afternoon.

Puts all the striker worries into perspective.

But strangely I still find myself on here hoping for positive ITK. In the words of greaves it's a funny old game.
Hope your all ok & your totally right perspective wise

Just so I'm completely clear on this, on a night when we have a lot of itk and journalists agreeing that we're finally about to sign a world class striker, everyone is talking about bale leaving because someone put a sad face?

3 years left mate. I agree with the thrust of your post though. We are still reasonably well protected even if he doesn't sign a new contract. Its reasonable to assume he'll command a very big fee next year.

Also, the way the finances are going in Spain we may never get offers as big again, if the banks pull RMs funding they are as screwed as Valencia.

Bale has got 3 years left. Utd kept Ronaldo, Goons Fabregas, us Modders - all despite Madrid/Barca saying similar stuff. Bale, imo, isn't gonna be distraught - he's gonna make the year one worth remembering before he's off.

Have faith.

We must be the most unlucky club in the world, the Chelsea CL thing, having to sell Berba when we finally sign a decent midfielder in Luka. Now we sign a striker and are about to lose a once in a lifetime player.

Thanks for clarifying.

Honestly I think people are too worried, I am sure Levy and co are aware that keeping him one more year will still leave us in a strong or if not stronger position if we qualify for CL we can get a big fee this year and next year. And also we should be marketing Bale as the first £100m player. If they can pay £50M for Torres, Cavani they can pay £100m for Bale.
