My guess is that Paulinho and Soldado alone would eat up the leeway we got by letting Bentley and Gallas go. On top of that you have Chadli, potentially Coentrao, McCarthy and another WF as well as doubling Bale's wages - we'll have to free up some room somewhere.

Hopefully we're able to do it without selling Ade as I thought he was phenomenal over the final month of last season and is poised to replicate that form, but I can see why the club would want to move him on.

Edit: If what SpurinChicago says is true perhaps this is all moot.

Actually i wouldn't think Paulinho is so well payed, of course he has gotten a raise, but since he came from brazil, his wages there probably didn't amount to that much. Not on over 50k a week IMO.

Chadli probably isn't earning that much too, but Soldado might get a decent wage.

Gallas was on around 70k i think, and Bentley on around 50. Add in the few quid that the other released players took up, and i would say that at current time we have a markedly lower wage bill than when the season ended.

Just imagine being paid 500 thousand pounds every month to play football.

Apologies if you've already explained but what's your issue with this debt?
My issue is that we have this great chairman who made us into a self-sustaining club with no debt and now we do have debt. If you're going to invest it should have been when we had C.L football and Arsenal couldn't spend much. If Redknapp couldn't be trusted then fire is ass or don't appoint him in the first place.

My guess is that if we bring in Soldado the wage bill will pretty much be even with what it was last season (130k/w left by Bentley and Gallas and taken up by Paulinho and Soldado, ~35k left by Bostock et al and taken up by Chadli). Then you figure that Parker's wages will go straight to Bale, and we still have to work out how to pay up to three additional signings.

Just on the subject of ade He is not well liked especially with his mate gallas gone he has to try harder to fit in again after falling out with people. Most liked in the squad are dawson, walker and huds. This aint the place for the discussion but I have loads of stories to share. Ill do an article soon or alternatively just come meet me at a youth game :)

I have a gut feeling for an announcement tonight. But then I had one yesterday maybe its just wind.

Everyones away at the minute was at the training ground yesterday and not a soul was there apart from some builders who I might add were piss taking chelsea fans.

That would be great.

That will be because he is only just reporting back to the club after a longer rest due to playing in the Cup games. I wouldn't read to much in to it.

Top reporting, your skills already surpass that of a Daily Mail "journalist", link a site showing some tits and you have qualified for The Sun.

He is on all the posters for the match though, would be a bit strange if they use him to promote it but he doesn't actually play unless there is a serious unforeseen reason such as joining Those Mighty Yids. :shifty:

Thought someone stated those posters had been removed/changed?

you're like my gf who 'doesn't like' to use her credit card so instead uses her debit card and can't get her head round my explanation as to why it's not only safe, it's advantageous (ermagherd) to use the credit card i.e. someone else's money upfront, as she can and does pay her credit card off in full when it's due. Self-sustaining doesn't = no debt, but then she doesn't get it either

mainly, he doesn't understand how it works
I like it how people bang on about Levy not taking out loans like man u and not having debt then when he does make debt they gloss over it and style it out, like it's no big deal. If it's so easy and pain free the it should have been done when jol, was in charge.

With respect, when has Adebayor ever played for the counter attacking team? The Goons were/are good on the counter attack, but they're always looking to dominate posession. City were never a counter attacking team when he was there and Real Madrid?

Arsenal were very much a counter attacking team when he was there, they played the game to suit Henry's pace on the counter and looked at Ade to fill his boots. City were hardly a dominating attacking team then either, they were just building the team and players like Barry were providing the creativity through midfield and Tevez was far more the goalscoring threat that allowed Ade far more space. Real Madrid he only started 6 games as a third striker option not quite sure how relevant that is to anything and with the likes of Ronaldo and Benzema again taking the attention of the defences gave him a big advantage in nicking a few goals
