I've been told by two different people Harry has his eye on Gokhan Inler from Udinese.

I know Arsenal were linked with him last season but couldnt close the deal because his agent wanted a huge signing on fee.

That would make a lot of people here very happy, not me particularly, I think he is quite overated.

I am hoping Harry has gone over to Rome to negotiate a swap for Mirko Vučinić for Pav with Roma who have just signed Luca Toni on loan. Just dreaming though.

Inler would be great but Udinese dont want to sell.

The obvious choice is Muntari although I think hes poo.

Probably wont get anyone and this would have all been a waste of time.

Inler has been poor for the last year and a half or so since Udinese changed formations and his roll in the team played. 2 seasons ago he was stellar.

He might have gone a bit stale and could do with a move but I can't see us making a move now. Almost certain we looked at him when Comolli was here though.

Thanks for that - so when he was playing well, was it in a style at all similar to ours?

Yeh thats spot on...

The person that told me about this is a football agent in this country who takes young turkish talent over to Turkey for trials with Gala and Fener etc etc. He has conducted business with Inlers agent in the past regarding other players... however i don't know him well enough to believe everything he tells me.

So please dont shoot me down i'm just passing on what i've been told.

I would be very, very surprised to see any of these, Muntari being a possible exception...

Harry's not going to mess with squad chemistry at such a critical moment of the season by bringing in an un-prem-tested player who 'might' work out well or could be a dud. I think IF he makes any moves, it will be for players who are both established and have prem experience.

Personally speaking, if he could unload Pav to Roma and get RvN in for 6 months on a loan, I think we'd have done some tremendous short-term business which could well ensure we get 4th...or more...

Harry's track record suggest that he always favours players with Premiership experience that he has worked with before. This must make Muntari many times more likely than any of the other names mentioned. Might also explain why he doesn't seem to be in any rush to get O'Hara back.

I think Rax was guessing Beckham... Maybe he thought you meant personal terms being discussed in Milan. Not what I think is happening though!

Would Harry really need to fly all the way to Italy to watch Muntari play, really now guys, he did play for harry at pompey and brought him in at pompey. i don't think he would need to watch Muntari. Then again did he watch Niko before he signed him from pompey in August.

Muntari isn't going to Africa. He was excluded from the squad in a shady move where he wouldn't apologize for missing a friendly.

Vucinic and Defoe would be a really good pairing up front for us. It'd be very tough to get him though.

Please NO! He's totally pants.

I think getting anyone Italian is just mad at the moment, unless they are kids like Giovinco - never gonna happen anyway.

Balotelli is worse than Bellamy and Ronaldo put together when it comes to primadonnanism, so a definate NO there.

Gattuso maybe, but will not play second fiddle to Palacios.

Selling Pav to Roma maybe, but they have no cash so nothing there IMO.

Of all the options Muntari is the only viable, but Mourinho will not lose to DMs in one window - not in a million years. Actually Muntari could deputise for both Sneijder and Cambiasso, so is very important.

And Harry in Italy 2 days before one of the biggest games of the seaosn sounds ridiculous.
