If the criteria is best or most exciting players then it has to be Gazza and then Bale. Gazza was the most naturally gifted British player of the modern era by some distance. And Bale is in the same conversation with his incredible combination of speed, shooting, heading.

But talent aside and also bearing in mind those two actually spent most of their careers elsewhere...maybe our former captain Mabbut. Such a nice guy. He loves Spurs and spent almost his entire career with us. And what a pro - for those of you too young to remember, he was type-1 diabetic and used to have to give himself insulin injections several times a day

I loved Lineker, but Gazza tops it for me. Posters on my wall, same haircut, same Puma King boots, same number when playing. He was a genius. Mental. But a genius.

also loved Hoddle, Klinsmann, King, Ian Walker (short period), Anderton, Dumitrescu, Modric, Bale, VdV, Tainio, Daws, Berbatov, Carrick (biggest mistake was selling him when we did), and Kane.

Some players I liked, but never got attached to like Eriksen, BAE, Lloris, K Walker, Popescu, Sheringham etc etc. maybe I just don’t like their character?

Wouldn't say he was a particular 'favorite' of mine (compared to Hoddle, Gazza, Ossie, Modric etc), but Edgar Davids was just what we needed at that time when we were very mediocre. He really rallied the troops and set a few things in motion for us when we'd been going round and round in circles.

Based on who I've seen actually seen play in a Spurs shirt, for me it's a tough choice between Hoddle and Gazza, they stand above all others and fortunately there have been many greats.

As I was too young to actually see him play, if I'd been a bit older I strongly suspect I would be saying two words "Jimmy Greaves"

There have been some damn fine servants of the club over the years. I have a special place in my heart for Gary Mabbutt, but special mentions also for Ledley King, Chris Hughton, Michael Dawson and Steve Perryman.

Similarly, there have been those who have graced the turf with their technical ability. Glenn Hoddle obviously, but David Ginola, Gareth Bale and Rafa Van Der Vaart all worthy of a mention.

Yet football is about moments. Ricky Villa and Lucas Moura run him close but, thanks to one truly magical moment in 1984, my favourite player is Tony Parks.

Take it away, Brian Moore...

Gudjohnsen, from Iceland, is the man taking it...

And he's saved it. Spurs have won it. Tony Parks is the hero.

Still gets me now. 38 years on.

Yeah I'm not really able to pick one individual player. We are fortunate to have been blessed with some amazing talent over the years. Each era has its own idol IMO.

80's - Hoddle, Gazza
90's - Ginola, Klinnsman
00's - Ledley, Keane, Defoe
10's - Bale, Dembele, Dele
now - Kane, Son, Lloris

Dembele for me. Absolutely loved him. Such a unique skill set. Pretty much every player during Poch's era said he was the best they'd played with. Remember seeing De Bruyne interviewed about picking his best team and Dembele was in it.

He didn't score many. Didn't assist many. But he was able dominate the whole midfield on his own.

The most magical for me was Hoddle, just did things I had never seen anyone else do before or since.

The best footballer I have seen at Spurs is Modric, absolute genius in the middle who I could watch all day.
Truly underappreciated by almost everyone because he makes difficult things look simple but there's a reason he's the only other player to have won a Balon D'Or in the Messi/Ronaldo era.

If you first started watching Spurs in the 70s and seen Hoddle play, there cannot be anyone else but him

I love watching our flair players but have always been a defender and admired grit and effort. I am having a hard time picking between Justin Edinburgh, David Howells and Michael Dawson. For me it's all about attitude (not the gay magazine).

Howells was an early hero of mine.

Sir Glen. He helped win us some FA Cups.

Loved Gazza, Davide, Modders, Teddy, Bale and Harry. All have filled me with Spurs pride. We have been blessed with some of the very best at times.
