I love Younes. I'm glad he's finally fulfilling his enormous potential. He looks miles better with Ledley next to him too.

Good player, hoping he can develop to be as solid as King. He's certainly of a similar mould.

A real shame he had to give up on his tennis dream though.

Tennis is so unnaccessable it seems unless you have a few bob.

Nice read

Amazing comments on King though. Never really thought about it like that - him not being involved in training meaning they can't practice as a unit

Really, I said it many times last season. I don't want Ledley to retire, and I'm glad he's proving us doubters wrong ATM. But, the fact is that continuity is important more important at central defence more than any other position - something honed on the training ground and in full matches, and, sadly, Ledley can't do the former and hardly did the latter last season.

But, as of so far this season, I am glad to have had my doubts rubbished and long may it continue.

Important thing there was the last sentence about 4th being between us, Arsenal and Liverpool
"I'd agree it's between us, Arsenal and Liverpool - and Arsenal and Liverpool aren't better than us."

I suspect that belief goes right through the squad which I'm pleased to see.

Agree - it's so important. I really believe we can do it this year.

Agreed. Loved those comments!

I think having players like VDV to instill that belief has been the key to us progressing so much in this mental area of the game. Belief, confidence and will to win are what separates the top class players from the rest.

We need this belief if we're going to make the next step up. We're not a million miles away from even Man City or Man Utd, really, when push comes to shove.

Good article. For those who are always having a go at The Mail, it is certainly not as bad as some other rags I could name and these days their sport is reported very fairly overall and the articles and interviews on Spurs and our players are generally well written and unbiased.

Unless, of course, Cheatski are involved.

Hope Ledley stays fit or Gallas is back soon cos playing alongside Daws or Bassong he Yusually looks Yuseless much like his first stint. There's definitely a player in there no doubt, but against Man Ure in the 2nd half he looked like he'd never played football before. Him and Ledley look fine though, keep going Leds!

Younes has a far higher ceiling than Dawson imo. People need to forget about his previous spell with us, where he was a youg kid basically thrown in at the deep end in a new league, new country, in a struggling team with a constantly changing CB partner iirc

He was excellent at CB last season until he got injured, and he has been excellent so far this season. Long may it continue

Didn't they mention he is an immigrant? and probably Muslim too?

True! further highlighting my point that whilst he has clear potential, with other partners at CB he often looks like an accident waiting to happen, and then people on here will slate him. Whilst i like him, you can't keep dining out on potential and had we signed a top class CB in the transfer window keeping him out the side i wouldn't be too disheartened.

He's had 1 good game and people go overboard. He cost 4 goals against Utd and City, played against 9 men v a hopeless Liverpool and committed a howler against Wolves that should have resulted in a goal at the back post.

If he is only any good alongside King then he is not good enough yet. He has the ability but still has to learn positional play and to concentrate for 90 mins which by now shouls be better than it is. Fourth choice but with a chance to improve his game now.
