I remember him saying the opposite about Torres and when pushed for a club replied that Torres would love to go to Liverpool

That was a couple of months later iirc when it became increasingly clear to everyone that Rafa wanted him and he wanted to play for Pool.

I'd be surprised if we pack the side with Spanish players. When Jol took on the managers job the speculation was that the team would be full of dutch players, but that didn't transpire either.

Yep but I think Levy and Co will let Ramos buy the players that he wants where as with Jol they didn't. So a squad of Spaniards could be a possibility. He would have known Woodgate from his days at Madrid when he wasn't injured.

Yup, Valencia are in meltdown. I'd take David Silva over Joaquin for Spurs any day of the week.

But I would expect both Barca & Real Madrid to be in for Silva....

Haha! Can just imagine him wondering round at 45 degree angles selling players...

"I bet you are wondering what a Spanish player can do for your football team... we have Central Defenders starting at just two million euros, and wingers from only 4 million euros..." over him walking at weird angles and shots of stereotypical football players laughing and joking in slow motion

But we'd hand over our money, and then it would take 12-18 months before the players were completed. No doubt they'd be smaller than promised and with worse drainage.

Slightly off topic, but although Guillem is a bit of a rumour-whore, seems to talk a lot of sense a lot of the time, unlike a lot of British pundits.

I think Joaquin could become a great player for us. From what I remember of him at Betis he seemed to be more in the Jenas mould, with pretty good goal scoring ability. Ramos might be able to turn him into the next Lampard - but obviously not as fat.

Hasn't Ramos already said he was'nt going to go Spanish, or something to that effect?

Villa, Juaquin, Silva or Albelda would be great signings. I wouldn't mind Albiol either.
