When we win our last 4 we'll either win the league or finish on the joint highest number of points (89) ever to finish 2nd.
89 is incidentally higher than the average points of the champions since the PL became 20 teams.
The winners have only had more on a handful of occasions since 1996
The scums invincible only had 1 point more and, with 4 games left, our goal difference is currently bigger than theirs was. AND we're 2 points shy of Chelsea, their nearest rivals with 4 left to play.

We might not win the league but we've done everything a team would normally have to do to win it.

(I still think if we win the next 4 they'll drop points)

It's a travesty that we aren't winning the league.
It really is. For the second season in a row, we are unquestionably the best team in the Premier League. Playing the best, winning games handedly, rarely have to grind out results. It's a shame we find ourselves chasing yet again.

But you try and tell the young people today that... and they won't believe ya'.

We shouldn't underestimate the financial implications of back to back CL football, nor the media attention our performances are getting.

I know Nike are sponsoring our kits next season, but I don't think naming rights for the new stadium have been sorted yet. Being a top team competing for the title and playing in the biggest club competition on the planet is a huge attraction for prospective sponsors, even without the added bonus of NFL games.

Could be the difference between losing players and keeping players.

Sometimes it's all about timing. We're gonna be so unlucky not to win the league this year. If we win 3/4 more games in pretty much every season it would have been enough. Could argue we're winning all these games in a row cos chasing Chelsea but still think we've been unlucky to have another team who won so many games in a row.

If we match this performance pts wise twice in next 3 or 4 seasons one of those years it will be enough. We just have to be a bit lucky in terms of timing, so many teams who have won the league over last ten years aren't close to what we've been this year.
We're very close, we will win the league in the next 4 years we just have to whatever we do keep Poch and this team together.

This is even more true when you factor in that we've racked up more points than any other team over the last 2 years, but haven't won a trophy.

Just posted this up on Sky

If there is one thing that stands out to me here, it's that even the very top teams roughly win 2, draw 1 and lose 1 every 4 games.

If Chelsea results are average, we can win the league.

This isn't over.

This may be crazy, but I'm feeling a bit sad at the moment. Not because I'm not loving how amazing we are, of course I am. But it's just that we're so good, but we're not going to win anything this Season. And we didn't win anything last season. And the end of WHL feels to me like the end of any real chance we've got at winning the league for the foseeable future. First there's wembley, then there's the inevitable getting used to the new ground. Whereas if we were staying at the Lane we'd pretty much definitely win the league next season.

I know I should just be happy with how fantastic we are, but we're still going to come away empty handed, and with every rich fucker in Europe trying to steal our players this summer, it all feels fleeting and finite.

Or maybe it's just the fact I've been getting smashed for 4 days solid.

I keep wondering what would have happened if only we'd closed down Pedro properly at Stamford Bridge. If we'd held onto our lead there and all other results stayed the same, we'd now be top.
Pedros goals have been so important for them this season. Game changing long range efforts - props to the guy, but quite annoying to be honest.
