Exactly, and we were not piss poor for the Wolves game either and the Arsenal game was fairly unique in terms of the team we sent out and the circumstances. But all the same enjoy your 'I told you so moment' and don't forget us when you are rich and famous.

Wolves, West Brom, Arsenal.

Wolves - we were neither great nor piss poor, but we gotthe result. You don't hear United or Chelsea fans whingewing when they win titles because they had to grind out results in some games (often where they are xpected to romp home).
West Brom - was a very good preformance, hamstrung somewhat by Modric having to go off, and then VDV, too. Would this be the same WBA who just biatch-slapped the Goons at the Scumerates?

Some of us are like Real Madrid fans but without the whole 31 league titles and 9 European Cups baggage.

Fuck performances. Let's the get the winning thing down pat and go from there. We get some of our wounded and lame back and we'll start getting the results again. In the meantime, the players who are fit need to find their gonads and pronto.

We need Defoe back and firing on all cylinders that's all.

Clearly our form has been disrupted by a number of key injuries, this has compounded the inability to address the main defieciency in the team during the summer window. Added to this a number of players have started the season poorly, so we are left with the poor performances that we have witnessed.

To me, the loss of our key centre back, and Gomes is massive in that they really are top draw players, who last season were very consistent and was a major reaon why we achieve the CL spot.

The loss of defoe has taken away our cutting edge, since we desperately needed at least 1 new striker who never arrived, we are left with the 3 others we had, all of which have deficiencies to differing degrees.

Lennon has been particularly poor, and presently doesn't warrant a starting place, but nobody who has replaced him, has really showed much either so we continue to persist with someone who may perform at some point.

For me it is now time to stop pissing around with the tactics to suit the players, modric is now fit, and whilst JJ has performed reasonably well while he was injured, he should be consigned back to the bench, or perhaps even take Lennons spot. This will allow modric back in the middle with thudd and get bale back to the left wing where he has been so important to us.

VDV entry in the team has disrupted the tactics, i am not saying that his inclusion is a detriment, quite the contrary his performances have been very promising, but we have had to adapt our style of play, and certainly with having to use our 3 stand-in strikers, this has made us fairly toothless up front.

Clearly remains to be seen whather upon his return whether defoe with VDV off him works, but could do, if not we really still need to quality striker who has both pace and the ability to hold up the ball, the problem remains that availability of these is limited and the cost will be prohibative.

First steps to me is to get back to basics in terms of tactics and team selections, then hope our centre back injuries decrease, and gomes returns, which should stabalise our performances somewhat. Then we need to address our striker deficiency when the window opens.
