Surely they couldn't lie anyway at Brazil customs because their passports would show their movements?

It sounds like the point is that the players should be isolating, not that they weren't allowed to enter the country. If they lied and said "We promise to quaranteen" and then just didn't, there isn't really much that the people on the border could've done is there?

Commentator just said there's a rumour that the local traffic authorities are arranging a coach to take the whole Argentinian entourage away.

Press showing this as a ridiculous Brazilian law, but surely it's fucking idiotic for the Argentinian football team to go against the laws of a country.

I've heard some weird stories before about the Argentinian fa being full of absolute corrupt nobs. If Brazil are not playing any of the UK based players then surely Argentina were notified.

Weird.

I'd be enjoying this much more if it wasn't two of our guys at the centre of it. It'd just be a fucker if they're forced to quarantine in Brazil for 2 weeks and then come back and have to do the same for 10 days in the UK.

Brazil wanted them to play, clubs refused.

This whole thing stinks of bureaucracy, the four lads should have been stopped at the airport. They'd have mixed with the whole squad, including hotel stays and the likes. This is Brazil trying to make a statement, but sure the whole world knows they probably handled the whole COVID situation the worst of any nation. Having these lads storm the pitch is all about optics, would be worried about the four lads being held in custody.

I'm loving this telenovela. High stakes, international pandemic, corrupt officials, cluelessly naive footballers, it's got it all.

This is the problem with aggregators. They've taken than from a minute-by-minute write up from the Guardian, not a actual sourced story. The writer is getting his info from Premier Sports and Twitter, just like the rest of us.

Commentator has heard that Argentina are leaving and Brazil will hold a training session for the fans.
