Apparently the Brazilian health officials told the Argentina team this morning that four players from EPL were not to play, but they instead licked themselves in the dressing room and refused to negotiate.

Locked, they didn't sit in the dressing room licking themselves, that'd be proper weird

Would be just our luck for a couple of players to be unavailable for us having travelled to South America for a game that didn't even take place. Farcical.

To be honest though, regardless of the blatant shenanigans being played by the Brazilian authorities by doing it as the game kicks off, Argentina are ultimately to blame for not having known the immigration rules. Surely someone at the AFA could've googled the fucking restrictions at least.

Regardless of what a mess this is, I have no issue with footballers being held to the same restrictions as the rest of the population.if they're supposed to be isolating then they should be made to isolate.

Game's stopped, but I'm not switching over on the slight chance that I see them try to handcuff the players

We shouldn't have let them go but the club has historically been fair to their players and always let them go on intl duty think we should have put our foot down this time though.

My understanding was that we didn't let them go. The PL clubs got together and refused to release their players. Our Argentine contingent just said "Fuck that" and went anyway. It's not like Levy can physically prevent them from going.

I didn’t remember this scenario in Shoot’s “You’re the ref” column.

Yeah think we are going to learn a valuable lesson here.

Surely they couldn't lie anyway at Brazil customs because their passports would show their movements?

So I bet they allowed them in the country so they can do what they did today. I mean to payback for the copaamerica. This is silly

It's not like they didn't know where they would be.

Turn up an the stadium and deal with it if they turn up... Not wait until the game has started.
