some people need to seriously wise up when i comes to discussing the club and players. The knee jerk reactions on this forum and in the match day chat room is shocking.

We drew 2-2 with reading, big deal. We played well by all accounts, and we cant expect to win every fuckin game. Reading nearly beat united this time last year, and Everton were beaten at home by a league 1 side this year.

The abuse given to the players and the team by some so called fans on this site is shocking. There are so many comments written by members who clearly know fuck all about football. I generallly stay clear of this place for a few days after a game that doesnt go our way, but why should I - I should be able to come online and get some reasoned discussion not the drivel that people currently post.

I honestly question how half the people can call themselves fans. :duh: At the time of writing the mods have correctly had to lock 6 threads - some of the comments in this threads boarder on lunacy. I am all for freedom of speech etc but can the mods just not bar the posters who clearly just post pish time and time again.

Things are looking up, we are playing good football, we need to obviously sort our defence out but we all know this, it will happen. In the meantime get behind the club and act like proper fans. :hello:

And if people want to post reactions to the match (which they are more than entitled to within reason) then it should be in the official match thread and not start a new thread on every little thing that happened in the match or the whole forum would become unmanageable.

So what were your views of the game fozzi? I take it that you were there?

I was and we did NOT play well. Keane missed chances, Jenas missed chances even Berbatov fell over the ball on his hat trick. Robinson let a free kick drift over his head and we were caught by a simple break for an equaliser.

When we needed Defoe we were given Taarabt. Then Huddlestone gets on and sent off in 5 minutes.

It's no wonder that people are furious when we should have walked a game and we struggled to hold on to it, and got a replay when we leat needed it.

What was your view of today?

It's not just on hear that the constant criticism of the team goes on. Coming out of the ground after this seasons 4-0 victory against Wigan I hear some guy moaning that he was not happy as it should have been 6. During the recent Fulham game when Robbie scored his first goal instead of cheering someone behind me somewhere was heard calling him a twat for missing the penalty against The Gooners the week before. It goes on all the time, and it seems every game win lose, or draw, some people are never happy. Every shot must result in a goal, every attempt against us must be saved. I do find this site to be very frustrating some times, but everyone is entitled to an opinion. Saying that I also wonder what they are doing supporting Spurs. We along with Newcastle are the most frustrating and difficult team to really support through thick and thin. Perhaps like me they cannot help it.

I am all for being positive but I cant be positive about that performance:
- it was Reading reserves
- the same failings again and again have warn down my patience.
Robinson- error prone, Dawson like him but nervous wreck, Keane- top Prem goalscorer in 2007 but slow and spends whole game moaning.
Jenas- all the talent in the world, great engine but one good game every six or so not good enough. Same as at Newcastle- flatters to deceive. Doesn't take responsibility, can't pass. I have had enough of him- and told him so at various points during the afternoon.
Let's hope we get some decent midfielders in- bring back Mendes!

There's a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde thing which goes on on this site. You're right to avoid posting after games (unless we've won and won well), that's when the I-want-to-punch-something brigade come out of the wood-work. They're just getting the frustration out of their systems, so best to just leave them to it.

I've often thought though that it might be an idea to set up a sub-forum, we could call it the Sauna or the Boiler Room or something and it can be specifically for people to let off steam in.

I hate these shit threads more.

I pay enough for my ticket, so I'm entitled to call Robbo a clown and Keane shit.

Go back to sleep.

good point. it would give people a chance to let off steam and have a good old moan. people like fozzi and stoof can then avoid it

So no discussing players outside of the match thread? I wasn't being specific for today, I was generalising.

What's the point of a forum then?

If it's players in general then fine start a new thread or if there is already a current thread on that player in there but, if it is relating to the match then it needs to go in the match thread.

this site has become like the bbc, too many mods running around locking threads. i guess they are thriving with the resposibility
