I'm confused, this was from back in March but it was only in the last month or so that there was talk of him leaving on a free next summer. Why did that even come up if he was always committed to WHU til 2020??

March 2017, they mention he is 18, he was 19 in Jan 2018. Still looks like he has 18 months left though.

They’ll sell at a relatively low price, especially if he is on a low wage now and it becomes clear that he won’t renew. My problem though is what he wants to do himself. We need to swing into action and do it rather than muck around.

What about Seri at the end of the season, after Fulham is relegated
If they go down we have to get Sess as a left back. Not as a right winger. He would probably be available. I don't see them going down however, they will get a new manager and start playing well. They have a good team

I disagree - I don't believe his final delivery as a wing back is good enough. Would much much rather go for a dedicated LWB such as Tierney, Grimaldo or Telles.

If we're going to improve/upgrade the position, let's do it properly.

Sess is only 18, can't really write him off yet. And home grown. But if you wanted to go for someone better then personally I would rather go for Mendy. I have doubts over Telles ability to transition to playing outside of Portugal, and buying players from there is usually extremely expensive. He was really poor at Inter and Gala. Tierney could be good but that league is shocking. As covered, I think we have big problems with our HG quota and IF there is the possibility of bringing someone who could become a special talent in a position we need then we have to look twice. Sess, Rice, Ake etc. If we didn't have to worry about HG the there are others I would prefer. But we have to be clever. After all If Rose is crooked then we could get Mendy and Sess as our two LBs.

They’ve got good players, but they are not a team at the moment, and they’ve lost all their confidence - which is critical as they were a ball playing team. A new manager may change that, but then who are they going to get at this stage of the season? Pretty soon it’s jaut getting to Big Sam time.

Ake seems to make a lot of sense.. he's also been used a fair bit as a left back so surely Poch would love that adaptability. Wonder how much Chelsea's buy back clause is as a marker..

So maybe he was never leaving on a free and instead it's a case of him not signing a new deal because he wants 40k pw (from what I've read) and the club don't wanna go over 20k with increases based on apps and there's a suggestion he may leave for a fee in that case. If so then there's no chance we get him as they wont sell to us.

Only way we get the lad is on a free.

Think Sess would cost more than Chillwell?
