I obviously don't mind the AM links but still would like to see Donley/Devine targeted for that role in the next few seasons. I still feel between GLC/Bentancur we have enough creativity in MF to bridge the gap IMO!

I would be looking at targets at WF, CF, or deeper creators in MF with obviously CB being my number one target. Just my opinion though!
You'd like to think the way he is progressing and just how good he is in his age group Mikey Moore will be looking to break through in the next couple of seasons as well. Bringing in an AM from outside now, means one of Devine or Donley will have to leave to find first team football for sure.

Gloukh and El Khannouss who we are supposedly interested in both look like very exciting talents and are already playing at a much higher level then Donley, Gloukh even has 2 CL goals this season, but I really don't see it as a priority. Like you say until we know for certain what Donley is capable of why bring in another young AMC. We already have Maddison, Kulu and Gio who can play in that position. Like you say if we did bring one in then somebody would have make way and the obvious one is Donley. I would really like to see him given some minutes before Jan just to see if he's even up to playing any sort of back up role. The only position in CM we maybe need is more a DM to replace PEH.

CB and CM are a must in January. Everything else can wait until we know more about our long term injured players as there are quite a few unanswered questions in there.

Sess is technically a better fit for LB than Davies (if he can stay fit)
Peresic was performing really well at LWF until his injury(contract ends in the Summer)
Solomon the jury is still out but that's because he has hardly had a kick as yet
Richarlisson may be worth persevering with until the Summer at least, when we will know just how much that injury has held him back.

You say we need a LB, I'd say RB was a higher priority depending of course on the above, because Emerson isn't technically good enough to play this inside FB role imo where as Sess is(again if he can stay fit after his surgery).

I agree that CB and CM are a must in January, no question about it. I just think anyone other than Udogie at LB is kinda terrifying. I also think there's no harm in adding Jota on loan considering Pulisic is likely never kicking a ball for us again and Solomon is also out long term. Richy was ok there but far from ideal. Gil might pan out, if he does over the next month then I'd be happy enough to wait but Jota feels like there's no downside to me.

I personally think Emerson does fine as an inverted RB. His lack of pace is a little concerning but he's good on the ball, scored against Brentford in our first league game and he can cover at LB and CB in a pinch. He's also a superb 1v1 defender so I'm less worried about him.

Sess just cannot stay fit, no matter how much I want him to work out and no matter how well I think he'd suit Ange's system, he's totally unreliable.

Can't see jota ending up anywhere other than Newcastle personally.

As much as it would be nice to spend a ton of cash, as we all know spending big money on a player does not guarantee they will be a success. Many of our good transfer deals that have been successful in the last few years have been 40 million or less so It proves that with the right scouting team you can still strengthen the squad and even the first team without necessarily having to break the bank. We clearly still are not dining at the top table when it comes to the sort of spending Chelsea, City, Utd, etc. are able to maintain every season but we don't need to be to be able to compete with those clubs in terms of money spent as long as we continue to be clever and clear in our transfer planning.

It’s mainly because people tend to underestimate how attractive we are as a club. Consider Wirtz, a 20-year-old talent from the Bundesliga – why wouldn't he want to play for us? It's not as unrealistic as some people here suggest.
20 year old talent from Bundesliga who is looked at by Bayern Munich *

CB clearly number 1 priority however I'm not sure that I agree on a CM being a must. We are generally pretty stacked in midfield and it's one of the current strengths of the squad with Bissouma, Sarr, Bentancur, Maddison and Lo Celso as I would guess your main 5 in a rotation for 3 spots (with Kulusevski proving on Sunday he is also a very good option for the number 10 rotation also), then we have the likes of Skipp and Hojberg as backup. If we sell Hojberg in the January window then perhaps I can see the rationale to prioritise a CM but only really because of the current injury crisis and the AFCON coming up. Perhaps a loan with an option would be the way to go then.

Honestly, I don't know much about the player. I've seen some clips, and he looks special, but there are rumors his price tag is much higher. Still, I believe we're after him, and if that's the case, we're aware of the cost. It doesn't seem unrealistic for me, especially considering the rumors from just a couple of weeks ago. Why not ?

It doesn't seem unrealistic to you that one of the best talents Germany's had in years who is wanted by everyone would choose Tottenham and Tottenham would pay the >£100m needed to sign him? You understand that random rumours don't mean much right? There are literally pages and pages of rumours in this forum and thread that show that, they're not pre-contract agreements and even then, "team is looking at highly rated player" is hardly earth shattering news. I can guarantee you Real Madrid, Barca, Man City, Man U etc are all looking at this kid too but it's not going to be joint custody
