Honestly can’t understand this prediction
Even if he is a total bellend, the only metrics that will be used to measure him flopping will be goals p/ game.
He may well have been a knob at Brentford but he scores goals.

if he goes to Chelsea and scores 20 goals, they won’t care if he is a dickhead.

in fact he’ll fit right in
There's a lot more to Ivan Toney than what is in the public domain. Wouldn't touch him with a bargepole personally whatever he might add to the goals collumn.

Very exciting talent. Think he’d suit the system perfectly. Right footed but can play ether side comfortably. Think he’s even played LB once or twice. Fast, big, good on the ball, eye for a pass. Barca really fucked up letting him go. He’s one of the most hyped young defenders around at the moment. Wouldn’t be too expensive ether but really there is a lot of interest in him. Would be an incredibly sensible move but I don’t see it due to the high demand.

I’m not basing my opinion solely on his limited time with us ( 0 goals and 2 assists ). I’m also basing my opinion on his time with Fulham where I believe he only scored 4 goals for them & 0 assists. He wasn’t exactly first choice for them either.
He was first choice post injury, then in an interview basically said he didn't know if he wanted to stay at Fulham and silva threw his toys out the pram and dropped him.

he was also coming off an injury for the first few months there, ultimately had a major surgery that was supposed to correct his specific knee condition. he had a couple major goals there & scored major goals for Shakhtar against the top in the Champions League. He deserves another year to prove himself.

It’s madness that some people are writing off Solomon already! I thought he was doing pretty well prior to his injury, particularly vs Burnley.

Personally I’ll always give a player a year before starting to properly judge them. They are human beings after all.

Apparently Koki Machida is on our radar. I had never heard of him, and it could be a lazy link due to Ange's Japan links, but he does at least seem to fit the kind of CB we're after:

Edit: he's also a CAA Base client, it seems.

I wouldn’t touch him based on the public domain, so what dread to think what else is under the surface. Need to avoid at all costs.

Yet none of his managers past or present have ever had a bad word to say about him. Strange. :censored:

Well, he was that small clubs best player pretty much every time, not exactly in their interest I guess to unsettle him by publicly saying anything?

Managers will defend anything that improves their chances of staying in a job. Did their managers say anything about Greenwood or Partey? Toney's offences have been minor in comparison.

A CM needs to be looked at imo.
We’ll be down to just PEH & Skipp in Jan, both of whom aren’t good enough.
it would need to be a loan though, or a quality upgrade on Bents, Madders, Sarr, Biss etc. Otherwise it's just more squad bloating, and blocks anyone coming through. We are not going to be down to our 7th choice CM that often tbf, this is a horrific run of luck.

Honestly - I'd rather run with Donley or next up for the U21's during AFCON - if you don't get the chance now, when the hell will you? Liverpool, city etc all use youth for squad players, and end up with quality, HG options off the back of it.

Or we are not going to see the next Mikey Moore sign here, if there's no route to the team, even in an injury crisis.
