Personal opinion: I’d sell both Solomon ( not good enough ) & Gill ( don’t think he’ll make it with us ) and use the funds they generate towards a top quality wing forward.
we may look to sell both in the summer but neither will go in winter, that's for sure. also would challenge the idea that Solomon isn't good enough..based off of what? He started a few matches when healthy & got a few assists then got injured unfortunately.

Is Marcos Leonardo still a realistic possibility?

Supposedly Utd and Arsenal sniffing round him heavily and not sure if Roma will be back in for him again but would provide a quality point of attack,
He is certainly available, although like you say he has also been linked to a number of teams including RM recently as well. Hasn't scored in the last few games but I wouldn't hold that against him at all. I really like the look of him as I've mentioned before but I think if Richy goes then we will be looking at someone further along in their development and with European experience. Which Is why I think Gimenez will take the top spot as he's 2 years older and now has CL experience. I think Leonardo will be seen in the same bracket as Veliz even tho i'd say that Marcos is further along in his development and has a different skill set. If we want him tho we could certainly get him. I think he moves this winter as the Brazilian season will finishes next month.

Perhaps if we are looking more on an interim basis we target someone like Ekitike who would appear to be made available this January.

Know Newcastle have a longstanding interest but would he necessarily get more game time there with Wilson and Isak to contend with than here or perhaps it falls down to wages in which I'm sure we will not over-commit to.

I know people don’t like him because he’s said mean things but Toney ticks all the boxes on the pitch.
Thats not why people don’t want him. He’s a gambling addict who still won’t admit he has a problem, and has a history of unprofessional behaviour. Fully expect him to flop wherever he goes next.

Honestly can’t understand this prediction
Even if he is a total bellend, the only metrics that will be used to measure him flopping will be goals p/ game.
He may well have been a knob at Brentford but he scores goals.

if he goes to Chelsea and scores 20 goals, they won’t care if he is a dickhead.

in fact he’ll fit right in

Not sure about Gallagher, would depend on PEH and how Ange feels about our current options.

Olise’s release fee is supposedly £65 mil but they usual need to be payed in one go which would put us out of the race.

The way I see it he’s been playing in a lower half side who have been set up to play to his strengths. He‘s had a purple patch in his late twenties. It’s far from certain that he’ll maintain that form at Brentford, let alone at a new club, and all after having over 6 months off football.

Thats before you consider his addiction and the fact he’s a bellend. Any club would be mad to pay what Brentford will be after and I hope to god we steer well clear.

He’s hardly Nile Ranger.

I remember there being a witch hunt on here for Harry Winks a few years ago because someone said he’s a trouble maker. This feels similar. There’s been no indication Toney is that at all throughout his career.

Loads of players have sleeping pill addictions in football as well as gambling at lots of PL clubs. The Athletic did a good piece on it. Does that make them dicks too?

As far as I know sleeping pills aren’t prohibited and being found taking them doesn’t incur a lengthy ban. The comparison doesn’t really hold up.

Toney is a risk. He doesn’t accept he’s got an issue and is on record blaming others for him being punished for gambling. That to me rings massive alarm bells, and I see it as too much of a risk to spend that much money on someone who could fail to replicate their form, or worse still end up banned again.

If we had a player who did this I’d want him out of the club straight away. Appalling mentality

I think Jota on loan could be a great move as long as we have an option.

It would allow us to focus on CB with our funds in Jan but we’d be able to see how Jota does. If he proves excellent we can then sign him in the summer and if not we could then go for an alternative possibly.

If Ange wants him then I trust in him that he thinks Jota is good enough to play high end PL football. He did well for Celtic in the CL and their fans adored him. Most importantly Ange loved him.

I’m not basing my opinion solely on his limited time with us ( 0 goals and 2 assists ). I’m also basing my opinion on his time with Fulham where I believe he only scored 4 goals for them & 0 assists. He wasn’t exactly first choice for them either.

Still won’t sell players we bought in the summer in January.

He was very much one for the long term in mind one would think. He has never put up particularly impressive numbers in a top league. Doesn’t mean I don’t rate him but I’m talking about a different profile of player ie someone who would come in and immediately improve our starting 11. Even when everyone is fit I’m just not convinced our WF’s are strong enough.
you mean someone like Kvara?

Agree but it's your analysis that "we won't spend the money" that I disagree with.

Our spending is a pretty good rate at the moment.
we spend money. but it's just not 80m, 100m for one player type of spending money. and i can feel that people is talking something like that. we may buy one player for 35m. another player for 50m. but never like the way liverpool, utd, city, chelsea, arsenal spend when they pay 70m, 80m, 90m, 100m, or 100m+ to buy one single player. buying expensive hasn't really worked for us. but when you see teams spending big to sign allison, vvd, gvardiol, enzo, caicedo, rice, nunez, antony (i know some of them hasn't worked out yet...just saying), i think people want that kind of 'ambition'...i guess...
