Having watches the u21 match, we should take a look at Ntep and Imbula. Imbula is the perfect midfielder for Poch's system.

Contacts and social skills canget you a big salary in the city. Why not In football?

Recruitment is a good example. If you know a fuck load of CEO's and various board members of some big institutions in the city then you'll be very desirable to a lot if head hunter firms. Social skills (schmoozing) is ANSI very important.

You do if you can offer a skill on top of it. Investment firms in particular do not pay extra for someone who can only provide contacts and no skill or knowledge pertaining to the product being dealt with, in this case football.

Well, Franco has that doesn't he?

He got a good cv. I'm sure he does some other standard stuff like attending various stakeholder meetings and junk but other than that it's all about the contacts and managing those relationships.

Obviously this is all just speculation on my part.

Haha well likewise, I certainly have no more proof than you do.

What other skill then does he provide if he doesn't interact to some extent in the negotiation process beyond contacts? Again, you don't pay six or seven figure salaries for someone to provide nothing more than connections, and an investment company especially would not take on such excessive costs.

I'd assume he plays a part in new business development as well. I'd hope he's out to dinner, most nights, on behalf of the club

So...
Broomfield finds the players,
Mitchell analyses the players,
Baldini has the contacts to enter negotiations,
Levy seals the deal.

To be fair there is a video from Spurs on the 'New Training Ground' thread (under Stadium section). There is also a video (I think from KSS) on the same thread which explains a lot of the concepts that KSS build into their design for the training ground, plus somewhere there's a whole pile of pics of the training ground.

I'd agree that Spurs TV are poor on a number of things such s screening youth team matches - but on the training ground there's a lot of stuff by Spurs TV and Spurs contractors (which I'm sure Spurs would have needed to agree that KSS could release) so they are probably 'not guilty' on the training ground
The clubs training ground video is no where close to Southampton's. Southampton's was actually in depth and very informative on top of video footage showing some of their training ground. Spurs' was a 6 minute puff piece of pics of the training ground and with players either saying on camera or quoted on how beautiful it is.

I'm not sure we have a better option at RCB than Kaboul though, and Kaboul has proved himself to be good in that position for us in the past, so i can't see how the manager gets criticism for that one.

Capoue is also probably our best DM, i would perhaps try Stambouli for a run of 2-3 games, but i don't think he has looked any better.

As for Adebayor, again it's a lack of options. Strikers especially need a run of games, which is what he has given him.

I can't realise criticise Poch too much for selecting these players, he really hasn't got much else in terms of solid alternatives.

Kaboul has had his good moments as well as bad, across his two spells and including this season. You don't think the boss could try Fazio or Dier next to Jan? Where was Kaboul for Walters goal? Why didn't he step out to block Bojan? Why didn't he come across and split the angles for Liverpools third? What was he doing showing Aguero on to his best foot for City's first? Or diving in wrecklessly for their second pen, or 3 yards into city's half as last man with Aguero onside behind him, on to a hoofed ball? These are incredibly basic errors of positioning. His armband should have a pic of Chirpy on it, and perhaps one of Mickey for good measure.

This is a joint KSS/Spurs video (joint presentor Darren Eales) to a professional audience explaining why the training ground has been designed as it has been, explaining its context within EPPP (youth development) etc. - and at 30 minutes is much more in depth explanation and light on powder puff pieces of people saying 'how nice it is'

Then the coach says I didn't want him, he's shit.

Agreed, Kaboul has really only had one decent game in 2 years, yes he had an injury, yes pre injury he was starting to look a decent CB, but to continue playing him given his performances since is crazy

I can't see how anyone can suggest there's no other options at RCB, Fazio can play both l and r, Dier too, now you can argue that they may also not be very good, but we have hardly given either a try and if he still doesn't think he has a decent RCB he has to question himself as to why sell Dawson because frankly he was a better RCB than all of them and a better captain than Kaboul.

If we are concerned about midfield then why did we sell Sandro? come to that if he's not happy with midfield why did he buy Stam, it's not as if he has had much of a look in

Likewise Ade, how can anyone say he's our only realistic choice when the attacking unit looks far better the few times Soldado has managed to get to play in it this season and with Kane banging in goals in the games he's played

See thats the type of stuff we need more of at the club level. Transparancy. Props to Eales for doing that. But now he is off to Atlanta to build their MLS club. Time for another board member to step up and do something like that. Or other people at the club.

As I understand it Togo can no longer qualify for African Cup of Nations.

So the problem of Adebayor going to it has now gone - he can either stay and play for Spurs or be sold without the constraint of AfCoN.

Good news whichever for Spurs

I love all the suggestions in this thread, its widely acknowledged that we signed too many young, inexperienced and/or foreign players who need time to adapt and to flourish and its a group that lacks a bit of character and leadership.

The solution though apparently - Buy even more young foreign players...
