Cannot wait to see him make his home debut

I've always been impressed with him whenever he came to WHL with Wigan and I really hope he becomes a top player for us.

We've had too few players of his like in the middle of the park in the last 25 years and its about time the opposition new they were going to have a tough afternoon.

Best of luck Wilson and fingers crossed Harry picks the right players alongside you in midfield!

yep, could be an amazing asset for us..

who will Harry go with tho in the middle??

Jenas Pal? Zok Pal? Jenas Zok? Hudd Pal? Hudd Zok? Hudd Jenas? Modric Pal?

not to metion O'Hara and others capable to play there..

Personally I'd go with JJ and Palacios - means giving Modric a free role on the left, but i think thats best.. Just escapes me tho as to why we didn't buy an experienced left-back..

I thought this thread was about WP. I will let you on to a little secret, we do have a quite an adequate LB in BAE. He may not be the best in the Premiership, but mate there are far worse. If you are going to say he make mistakes, then get rid of all our defenders because they have all been culpable in the past for goals scored against us!

Is it even possible to have a thread in Spurs chat anymore without it descending into an arse-witted formation thread within 10 posts?

There are a few really positive factors tomorrow - home debut for Wilson and second debuts for Keane and Chimbonda - it makes for a really interesting encounter and I can't wait!
Palacios is definitely a player we have been crying out for and someone who will be a firm favourite with the fans because not only can he get stuck in,he can also play.
Sometimes teams just need a spark to set them on fire - I hope Wilson can be that spark!

Back onto WP. I'm looking forward to seeing him play. He's been getting good reviews since he joined Wigan and has some qualities we seriously lack.

It is worrying that we are already taking for granted that he will be a big success. It seems like we're once again setting ourselves up for a fall if he doesn't reach our ridiculous expectations.

Indeed. Especially when there is a 'formations against arsenal thread' to which these replies will soon be moving.

I dont think anyone is taking it for granted but we are all hoping he can become 'The Man' and the player we all hope and think he could become in the famous Lillywhite shirt.

From what I have seen he has every chance of taking us forward but obviously there are many factors involved to be a great success.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Palacios, espeically after watching the highlight of the United game. I hope he can get stuck in and help us drive forward by keeping the ball moving. If he does play with Jenas I think we'll have two athletic players who will run from box-to-box all day long. Hopefully they are intelligent enough to pick and chose when one goes forward as to not leave us too short defensively.

Yup looking solid so far, and a good shot from him at the end as well.

Against a lesser 'keeper I reckon both he and Modric could have had goals in that first half against the Arse.

He's fucking amazing. I wouldn't normally say this about a single player, but he could be the man to save our season. Fantastic performance, Wilson.

He is one great player but still needs to link up better with modric or the strikers. He made some smal mistakes but he handled great with it!

Great Great performance from willo. His inclusion alongside JJ and Modric brings a delightful balance to our midfield, we looked much better then Arsenal going forward, and never really looked like conceding from open play.

If he plays like this every game, then we will be winning a hell of a lot more matches. He reminds me a little of Carrick, his passing is not shoddy at all either is it.

Great purchase.

That's the type of player I have been wanted to see in a Spurs shirt for as long as I can remember.

We played well in general today, just a little lacking in the final third but I feel that will come as understandings develop and confidence grows.
