Ben says it's on again.
City forums are saying they withdrew their bid and perhaps made it so we'd withdraw our bid for Bellamy.
Don't shoot the messenger:)

I'd personally run to East-London, get hold of Bellamy, gift-wrap him, put a nice little bow on his ugly forehead, pay for the postage, and send him to Eastlands if it meant us getting Palacios.

I'd say its definitely due to De Jong going to City that City would have dropped out. Why would they have needed us to drop out of the Bellamy transfer? They could outbid us anyway, but West Ham didn't want to sell to us either. So there would be no need.

Hopefully that ITK who said it would be done tonight was right, and despite the late interest from City, is back on for tonight  I would love to wake up to the signing of WP.

Graham Roberts said the same thing on Talksport around the same time, is there a link between them?
he also said they were negotiating right now, hoping to wrap up in a couple of days, he said it was from a very good source of his

Nonsense. No way Man City would let us sign Palacious cos we let them sign Bellamy, Man City can sign whoever they want.

Not if the player doesnt want to... if bellamy really rejects any deal made by city coz he doesnt want to sit on their bench but play for us they cant do really much it

fantastic news if true given the dire performance from Zokora today, would have liked Bellamy as well but Palacios is def more important

To be honest I have been shocked to see all the rave reviews Zokora got for his performance today. I thought he was woeful first half and for most of the game.

However the guy has a great attitude and gives his all, he was instrumental for our equaliser I thought (his one two with Defoe and pass to Modric did not recieve the credit it deserved) and he played very well from that moment onward.

I think he is a decent player, although not good enough for this league. I would hate to see him leave as I think we need players like him in and around the team/squad....that being said we really need an upgrade on him, so if Palacios can be that I am desperate for this to go through.

Totally agree with you, although I thought Zokora had an ok game today. Nothing special though, and definitely needs to be benched if Palacios comes.

I wouldn't even make it dependant on us getting Palacios. Anything to ensure that nasty little f*cker doesn't end up soiling our beloved Spurs.

He always has good energy the trouble is that he is an appalling holding player, lacks the required discipline to play the role and has very poor positional sense. the centre of our midfield was so open today you could have herded cattle through it.

Would be happy if we got Palacios but does seem bit of strange one that we have "gentleman's" agreement with city to stand aside and let them have Bellamy. Only thing i can think of is that we have agreed to not put any more bids in and with Bellamy effectively refusing to play for West Ham means that they are going to have to sell so city should get him for the £12 million.

That's because he is not a holding player and never was. He should be working in tandem with a holding player and pressing the opposition, ideally in a 3 man midfield..
