I for one will be very annoyed if we dont end up getting him. This is one of the few transfers Ive felt we actually need. This one will probably end up as important as Woodgate last year if we do get him.

Wigan manager Steve Bruce has revealed that another club has joined Tottenham in trying to sign Wilson Palacios.
Bruce insisted it was not Manchester United despite recent speculation.
Palacios played in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City even though Bruce admitted on Friday he was close to a move to Spurs - reportedly for £14million.
"Another club has joined the chase for him and we will see what develops," said Bruce.
"I do not know if an offer has gone in officially as I am not sure where we are up to until I see the powers that be.
"He has a fantastic 18 months here and we will fight to keep him but it is difficult."

Again, this could still be all made up by Wigan so they can push us to pay more £££££££££ for him. Notice he did not name the club who is in for him and said that it's not Man.u. This could be because he could'nt name a team. Mayb I could be wrong but I might be right. My hypothesis only.

I think this is one of those transfers that Levy has to pull his finger out of his arse, and just give them the cash. Otherwise, it's going to go on untill the 2nd, and we're going to end up without the vital players we need, as usual.

That's a fair point, after all they named us so why not name the other club? At the same time, I can't help feeling like we are going to miss out - it just feels inevitable with how things are going. As soon as we went bottom I went straight down the offy, and I don't intend to stop drinking until Match of the Day is a meaningless blur.

Man City have definatley come in for him, they more than likely have out bid us. Steve Bruce and Sparky are old team mates so he would have given sparky a heads up on the status of our negotiations. We should have acted in mid December if we were really desperate for him. Not sure Levy can be blamed here.

Mark hughes has said this about Palacios:

City manager Mark Hughes refused to be drawn on whether or not his side are the club interested in Palacios.
We try not to discuss players we have not made bids for. That is the situation," said Hughes.

"I was not concentrating on his (Palacios) performance today, I was more interested in the performance of my players.

"I saw him in midweek against Manchester United and thought he was excellent."

An unknown Spanish and German club have both been credited with an interest in Palacios and it remains to be seen where the South American ends up before the close of the transfer window.

From what I've heard, Sparky and Bruce hate each other. But then again I hear a lot of things.... what was that?

Why would a team blow our bid out of the water if the fee we had virtually agreed was close to acceptance?
Baffling!

Have you thought about the player preferring 'The Other' club cause of £££££ he gets more out of ?

Palacios agent will have already been told that City will offer him around £100K PW. He'll now just refuse the move to us, wait till Wigan and City agree a fee, and then agree personal terms. Deal should be completed around Monday afternoon :(

Because they are Manchester City and can afford to pay £100,000,000 for one player so if they want the same one as us they can get him and if Wigan get the chance of more money they will take it.

Someone on an earlier post said they will be angry if that happens but it's not worth getting angry there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Where did you here that??

From a supposed ITK. So believe of that what you will, the worry for me is, Graham Roberts was on Talk Radio today saying the deal was dead and that Spurs and Redknapp were moving on. It is without a doubt Man City that have come in at the last minute, because they know we can't compete with them financially, but then who can :(
