Tim Vickery was just speaking about him on the radio. He's a big fan. He described him as an excellent holding midfielder in the Mascherano mold, perhaps not as safe in possession (although still good in this regard) but quicker across the ground.

Vickery: Paulinho is a terrific signing for Tottenham

Wednesday, July 3, 2013

talkSPORT's man in South America, Tim Vickery, says Paulinho is an 'English-style midfielder' and will blossom alongside Sandro in the heart of Tottenham's midfield.
Paulinho has confirmed he will join Andre Villas-Boas' side in a £17million deal and Vickery, speaking to H & J, said; "Martin Peters, David Platt, Bryan Robson, Frank Lampard - he is bang in that style. You can imagine him and Sandro being a lovely combination. I think it is a terrific signing."

Tim Vickery told us Paulinho was going to be a massive hit for us, "A more dynamic Frank Lampard" I think he described him as

To be fair, I'm brazilian, and we all assumed that Paulinho was destined to be a star in the Premier League. He was one of the best players in the Brasilerão. Obviously didn't worked.

Don't know this guy Wilmar Barrios, though. Boca won the Superliga Argentina, and could be just his agent whispering to the papers in order to get a better deal.

So this journo is saying Boca Juniors want Foyth on loan and when they ask us we're gonna make a bid for Barrios. Or something like that:

When Angélici goes to England and asks about Foyth, the executives at SpursOfficial will ask for Wilmar #Barrios. The Offer made to President D Boca finally be 15 M D dollars

Seems like a great deal of inside knowledge to already know what we are going to ask and for how much before we actually do ask so skepticism hat on. Especially as this is not a like for like deal. Would definitely be a very clear return to planet earth from the heights itk was taking us sort of deal. Even if we got de Ligt we would be comically short in defensive depth.

Wilmar Barrios is followed by the Tottenham. The English club is willing to make a good deal to Boca in the next few days. You could go.

tbf, Kante did come from obscurity (that’s a state of being, not a club).

Willing to give him a chance if the scouts want him. And we all know whether I’m willing to give a player a chance is the only thing that matters

Just been scouring Twitter. Boca fans seem to rate him and are desperate for him to stay.

I’d value their opinions above some of the people here who write the dude off having definitely never seen him play.

He is in the Colombia 23 man squad for their Egypt friendly, looks likely to make their world cup squad. One thing from his highlights that really worries me is how he flies in, looks more reckless than Aurier

If we do get him in for fuck all then can we actually spend a shitload on a really good CM? 15m on this guy and 65m+ on another.
