Aside from higher wages etc, i wouldn't be surprised if he chose Chelsea, with Hazard likely out the door he will be a guarantied starter there, here he would have to fight for his place once Son is back. If Grealish comes in, we will be over stocked for AM/WF's, essentially it will be 6 players fighting for 2 spots, assuming Eriksen will be a guarantied starter. Even if you discount Grealish, thats still 5 players fighting for two spots, and we all know Poch loves Alli leaving 4 players fighting for 1 spot. I realise there will be rotation, but even so, it might not be as attractive where as if you go to Chelsea you might well be given the LWF position from the get go. Be interesting how this plays out.

Even if Chelsea sell hazard they still have Willian and Pedro I would argue he would have it just as hard there

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

If he joins chelsea, and Martial is off the table then are we at the plan Z end of the transfer window?

For the record we are a big draw currently but players are weird so we wait and see.

Plus if Poch rates him as highly as we've been told, I'd imagine he'd get plenty of chances if he signed. Sarri probably knew hardly anything of him a month ago.

If he goes to Chelsea he could end up at LB like Victor Moses did on the other side. Be that excites him.

If a player like Golovin has picked Monaco over apparent Chelsea interest then there's really only one choice to make for Zaha.

Or perhaps Chelsea dropped interest in Golovin after they got Jorginho... Sarri has been interviewed talking about how much he hates the transfer window and the fees involved, etc.

Willian plays on the right so he wouldnt be competing with him. He would with Pedro but he has become a utility player of sorts. Also Willian is 29 and Pedro is 30, beyond those two (excluding Hazard) the only other wing option they have is Lucas Piazon (who will no doubt go out on loan again). They are in dier need for more wing options especially as Sarri plays a very intensive 433. We have far more attacking midfield/ wing forward options then Chelsea and i don't see Zaha going straight into our starting 11 where as i can see that happening at Chelsea. Even if Hazard stays, which i very much doubt, they are still in desperate need. I just dont see how our need is the same as theirs no matter how much we might like to sign him.

Fair enough. Don't pay attention to any other club but Spurs during the summer really so didn't see this.

Their history of stock piling leads me to think they missed out though

There’s been a lot of talk over this summer of switching to a 4-3-3, and that’s certainly how we lined up against Roma. Assuming Alli lines up in a deeper role with Eriksen, we’d have Son, Lucas, Lamela and Zaha for two wide forward spots. Sounds perfect to me!

Could very well be possible. I'd just have a hard time buying that Monaco could beat out Chelsea on a player if they really wanted him.

Really those 4 plus Kane alternating through 3 spots. 5 for 3 spots is a good number. Although I'm still reserved in my excitement of Dele being a full time CM. The top looks great, I just would still have questions about the middle of the field.
