I hear you, but he is an Italian international footballer - how many of them muck it in the Championship? You can understand him wanting to move
Point taken but I just feel if he goes on strike and gets his move, it becomes the thing to do if he finds himself wanting a move again, regardless of club or league.

We knew N'dom had attitude issues but still took a gamble on him. I think we've wasted enough money on gambles where the percentage is not in our favour.

As per datamb & fbref, he has one of the best in progressive carries & dribbles completed. He also good in crosses

Report here look a bit dodgy but if true & we get him for 20m, this could be very good signing .
Datawise, he is better than Solomon and 4 years younger.
Above is comparison of Gnonto v Solomon vs Neto vs Barnes. Gnonto is in teens but still has better overall game.

On a side note I didn’t watch the game yesterday but I heard that Neto was excellent and looking back to his best? I always liked him as player and wanted us to get him pre injury.

I would be keeping an eye on Neto too. If he is finally over his injury problems he could be ready to explode in the right team. I really liked him before his injury issues.

If we're not going to spend big on Williams or Doku, we could look at signing both Gnonto and Neto over the next 2 summers and having wing options of:

Gnonto/Solomon for LWF
Neto/Kulusevski for RWF

All young with high potential.

Oh for sure. That doesn't mean he can throw his toys out of the pram and refuse to play and train though.

Yup. Don't disagree with that.

I also think Solomon (who lets face it, on a free makes a lot of sense) can be effective on the right

If they'll refuse to play to come to you, they'll refuse to play to get away from you too.

For this reason, I'm out.

He has not refused to train. He asked not to play their last two games so manager moved him out of training with the squad and to train individually.

The concern he has is playing in Championship with Euro’s coming up and being left out of Italian team as result. Leeds thus far have told him they will not sell and he is adamant about going due to the issue with Euro’s.

Ok I'll rephrase that just to "play" then(does it make a difference? Does he think he's more likely to get in the Italian squad by not playing at all rather than by playing minutes in the Championship? Has he put in an official transfer request or just said he doesn't want to play and wants to move?

Should have trusted his agent to get him a better move initially then, or at the very minimum had a clause inserted for if Leeds were relegated. There was always going to be a good chance Leeds went down last year.

Can't stand players being defended for not doing the only fucking thing they're supposed to do. It sickens me.

Another consideration, though not the most important, Gnonto and Destiny have played together frequently through Italian national setup in u21’s and below and have an understanding of each other. We could have the left side of Italian national team for years to come.

Not really relevant though is it? You can understand his reasons for wanting a move but he is under contract which he willingly signed.

He started last season with Leeds well but teams seemed to figure him out and in the 2nd half of the season his form dropped off. Plus he seemed to kicked off the ball quite easily. Not sure if he’s been able to work on that over the summer but if he has there is a good player there.

If we were to sign Gnonto and Orban, I think that would really cement this as a long term project and I'd be really excited about it. I think the optics of giving young talents chances would be better accepted if we went this route. As much as I rate Vlahovic for example, that's a signing with a different sign post imo.
I definitely agree with what your saying as a whole, and 100% the public perception of going for Orban over Vlahovic would have much better optics for the player.

That said though, Vlahovic is actually only two years older than Orban.
So although they would certainly be viewed differently, in reality they would both be signing for the future.
