Am i the only one who thinks we were the better team overall last night? They had a good last 15-20 minutes which seems to have left an indelible impression on everyone. Some of the football we played last night was sublime, just no end product.
I agree, we were the better team, no where near our best and it was a very even match up but i think we just shaded it. We had the better chances and could have got a few if the finishing was better.

PSV were very well organised and difficult to break down, but they didnt create many chances. Good away performance though.

Why weren't we at our best? Well I think there could be an overconfidence factor and lack of desire now that we have already won a cup. Can't remember too many other poor performances under Ramos, correct me if im wrong. I would be very suprised if this continues though, im sure Ramos will get the lads going again, starting on Sunday, followed by the demolishion of PSV next week. COYS

I personally thought we were outplayed. PSV played a more controlled game than we did and our possession wasn't really in advanced positions. We played the ball across the back line far to often and was punished as soon as we made a mistake.

Yes PSV played with 5 across the midfield but it also transformed into 433 when there were on the attack.

I'm glad someone mentioned this. Most teams realise if u flood the midfield you will beat Spurs. But you have to put pressure on the midfield. Our midfield is pretty average, but when both centre-mid players are at their best they can mix it with the best. On Thursday, they were quite average.

Avram Grant tried this, but the Chelsea boys didnt pressure our midfield. Gave them plenty of time on the ball.

Where Grant failed, Vergoosen succeeded.

Our problem is that while we can be very inventive, while we can switch back to front quickly and counter attack effectively, there isnt really a plan A. When we have possession we find it terribly hard to break down teams.

Watch how Utd are playing now against Pompey. Men in the box. Men hugging both touch lines. Full backs overlapping. We dont do that. It doesnt help that we havent been able to play a natural left footed player on the left, but our midfield is not creative enough. Chimbonda doesnt get past Lennon. Steed comes inside too much, our left back doesnt commit himself forward. Apart from huddlestone no one switches the play quick enough.

We dont stretch the opposition, and that makes it very hard to play through them. When we do have width our play looks very good. When we dont the centre backs pass it between each other, maybe play the ball to a central midfielder who gives it back to them, then because we havent gone anywhere we go long in sheer desperation.

We dont quite have the personnel to play a classic 4-4-2. If Bale was fit things might be different. I think we are capable to do really well if we can be better at building up our play.

I agree. It was just one of those days. United had one today for example.

We are perfectly capable of grabbing an early one in Eindhoven, then it's advantage us.

Don't see what everyone is so gloomy about.
