Our commercial revenue has been flat for 3 years. In business thats unacceptable.
Mate I can't decide if you are just trolling now, so I'm going to leave you to it.

If you can't understand that there aren't enough people in the world that would buy "Spurs freeze dried noodles" to make them a viable product, then there is little point trying to explain the rest.

that was an example. to say that we arnt thinking or working hard enough. Not that spurs could sell freeze dried noodles.

Why do you think sponsors sponsor a team? Not because their comercial department worked really hard but because thry think being linked with that team will help sell their product.

I disagree. Commercial revenue is driven by a good sales team. I would question who our Commercial Director is. Yes Utd are ahead of us, but they shouldnt be that far ahead.

Let's say you are managing Pepsi or Coca-Cola or Adidas or Nike.Choose whichever big sponsor u want.

Tell me 2 reasons why you want to give big bucks sponsorship to THFC ahead of say Liverpool. Remember you have the best interests of your company in your mind.

I was just using it as an example as well. Our product is not as sellable as the teams above us on that list, and it is as simple as that.

All teams with higher commercial revenue than spurs are in the champions league on a regular basis and have larger stadiums than us.

The fact that they have these incomes, champions league and win on a more regular basis has meant that they can improve on their teams and get more world wide exposure which in turn improves their income even more allowing them to improve their teams its a virtuous circle.

The fact that we are so high up compared to other teams that are also in the champions league and have large stadiums actually says something.

Also 5 years ago we were in the champions league. If a sales team were selling Ferrari's and are now selling ford's and still making similar kind of money I think you would actually be quite happy with them rather than sacking them.

That is not to say that things couldn't improve but for commercial income you can't say that is terrible.

Two words...

Branded dildos.

:sneaky:

We regularly feel like Spurs leave us frustrated or fuck us over big time, so why not make it a reality? They could produce different player branded models, "behold the Ledley KING"... actually, I think I'd prefer the Dumitrescu.

There's also small factors, like the Chevrolet deal with United, which is comedy gold.

If you could wipe off that 100m, that will be given to likes of Athletico Madrid, Valencia,Sevilla etc..meaning they could easily go above us in money league
Not really because it would be split between all the clubs in the division most of whom get close to bugger all.
Take Atletico out and the big two get more than all the other 17 clubs put together so if you share it out evenly you'd probably find that even Atletico would get less.
In fact my calculation is that each team would get about 25-30 million euros.

Successful is subjective. Lets look at the graphs on the front page, that is objective data.

Over the last 4 years, our commercial revenue has increased by 1.25m a year. approximately 3% year on year.

Thats a very poor return, regardless of whats going on on the pitch. I can guarantee you would get fired in most businesses posting results like that.
Its not really though is it...

League Title
FA CUP
League Cup
Champions League
Europa League

These are all titles the teams above us, in revenue earnings, have won more of recently than us. That is success, that is what sponsors want to be linked with. The stadium as well will bring its own rewards (and has, with the NFL deal).

I am not sue why you are bringing in real world business into this. Plenty have come and gone at Tottenham, peole have been sacked. Unless of course you are suggesting that Levy should be sacked as a result of somehow failing to come up with Billions out of this air to compete with the Russian mafia and the Oil Ogliarchs.

I think our earnings are doing ok and am hopeful that the success we are working towards on and off the pitch will result in an up turn in earnings as well.

I don't think we pay our sponsorship or marketing roles enough.

Working in this field, we pay £20k less than the likes of Man City or Chelsea alone. You won't get the best people on these lower saleries.

I also think we weren't an attractive brand over the last couple of years. With the influx of youth and England players/Kane we should be able to massively increase on this.

Levy axe falls as Spurs miss target

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who may soon accept a world-record bid for Gareth Bale, has lost patience again with his commercial department for failing to meet sky-high expectations.

Tracey Keenan has lost her job as head of global partnerships after little more than a year in charge of acquiring sponsorships that haven’t been big enough for Levy.

Talking business: Levy (right) with Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas and Jonathan Barnett, Gareth Bale's agent

Keenan’s swift departure mirrors that of her predecessor Charlie Wijeratna, who was shown the door after 15 months for failing to bring in enough new business.

Keenan, who held top positions with AEG and Wasserman Media Group before joining Spurs, left shortly after the announcement of Tottenham’s one-year kit deal with Hewlett Packard, which was worth a lot less than the unrealistic £20million a year Levy was demanding.

Despite the timing, Spurs say her exit was due to a strategic change in their commercial operation rather than the HP contract. Levy claims he can’t find the quality of commercial personnel he wants, so Spurs are going to outsource the work, although agencies pitching for the account should not bank on a long contract.

A Spurs spokesman said: 'We have decided to revise the way in which we handle commercial partnerships to ensure we are positioned to take advantage of the growing sectors.'

Now THIS is the marketing idea we have been waiting for, people!

With the holidays coming up, we can market the deliciously tantilyzing "Candy Kane" edition.

"In a 'Dier' need of a fix? - Dominate your midfield today with the new 'Eric Dier' edition!"

"On your way to the 'Dele,' but need to bust one out to reach your highest potential? - Let the Alli edition be your best bit of 'cheeky' business this holiday season! Our best results for lowest price - guaranteed! "

I'd go on, but I feel pretty dirty right now and kinda ashamed.:sorry:

I really hope you're trolling.

No one is saying we can't strive for improvement. But if you can't see why Man Utd are going to be much higher than us on a global commercial basis you either have the thickest Spurs tinted glasses in history or you're simply blind.
