I miss it too, but if there was ever a game I'd have to miss due to work then this is it. I can see it being an absolutely awful game.

My philosophy in life is that work comes second, always has and always will…

I am working today but came up with a master plan last night. My good friend Gay Al will call me at work around 13:27 to inform me that uncle Joey has just passed away. A tear or two and a little sob story about how he was like a father to me and I should be out of the door by 13:45 at the latest.

trust me if I had any holiday left I'd had used it for today - I am a sad spurs obsessive and I don't care who knows it

Having a late lunch so going to my dad's to watch the first half, I have the full game Sky+'d so will try my best not to find out the final score (although I'll probably be on here so no doubt I will find it out, I'll try and stay away from Spurs Chat) and watch the 2nd half when I get in.

Smart plan....because (and you may not have realised this yet) you can also now have the morning off next week when you go to Joey's funeral!

Just remember not to say, 'Who the fuck's Uncle Joey?'

Didn't Stephen Ireland pull a similar stroke?

and ended up looking an arse...

A BIG scam can be hard to handle in the future....

This is very true - in my younger days I used to do it all the time. I remember once pulling one too many scams and the boss getting a bit wise to it. She pulled me to one side and said stop taking the piss and I want you in on time for the rest of the week. The next day I over slept badly and was racking my brains as to what I could come up with. I opted to go for the "knocked off my bike" story, dirtied my shirt and bent the wheel on my bike. It backfired though as senior management insisted on me going to A&E supervised.
