Reading posts at the moment and just wondering how past events have affected your views...

I get the feeling that those who want AVB to be given more time desperately need to be vindicated in their want for Harry to be sacked...

Personally I thought that Harry's time was up because the anti-Harry brigade snowball had reached critical mass...

I now want AVB out because the football is dire and boring and is now IMO obviously not progressing...

Mine isn't on there - reluctantly wanted Harry out...reluctantly feel that AVB should be given a bit more time (reluctant because we're horrible to watch, and I doubt he'll turn things around).

There is a disconnect between the thread title and the poll choices!

Nevertheless, vote cast!

Perhaps should have phrased better... So you want AVB to stay for now?

Presume as you were happy to vote, you get the gist of the post/poll... Would be happy to change if you've gt a better title...

Yep. I don't think he's going to last the season, and I actually hate the way we play under him, but there's still a very faint possibility that things will turn around. I thought his team selection today, and the re-introduction of Ade, were positive steps in the right direction.

No. No need to change anything. Was happy to vote.

I was just being a pedantic arse, to be honest.

Harry was great for us but feel his time with us came to a natural end. The way he acted over the England job cost us and we could never go back after that.

I was delighted with avb being appointed and he talks a good a game as anyone. Ultimately 18 months of promise just hasn't come to fruits and we are going backwards. He is a lucky manager in my opinion and when that luck runs out it doesn't leave a pretty site.

Feel we need someone the players can be inspired by and I just don't think AVB offers that.

I was actually going to make a thread tomorrow with a poll asking the AVB In/out question, 24hrs after the event so the emotion had gone out of it somewhat, just to purely gauge what fans were actually thinking.

For this... Personally, I wanted Harry gone. There were a lot of reasons, wont go into them its been done a thousand times before, but I thought it was time for him to go.

At the start of the season, I said AVB should get the full season to build on the foundations that had been laid and I would judge him from there. I specifically wanted to see our attacking game come on leaps and bounds, and, even if it wasn't the finished article to be able to see clear signs of progress.

Right now we all know the state of our attacking game, and tactically things are looking bad. My belief, and patience, is wearing thin but I think we have to give him a chance to find some solutions to these problems, bearing in mind we are still integrating new players etc. Barring disaster, end of the season is when I will make a definitive call on what I think the club should do going forward.

I want him to stay and be given abit more time but i can sympathise with those who take the other view. Last year we were were much better tactically but boring and saved by Bale alot last year to paper over the cracks. Everyone accepted it was a transitional season with a new manager and losing 2 of our best players, but this year is different.
Yeah, we have lot's of new players who need to gel and that to be expected but our attacking style hasn't improved over the last 1 and half seasons. We're slow at passing the ball, hold onto it too long and have no movement off the ball, that should be developing regardless who is on the pitch at the moment. I'm glad we got AVB but the lack of any sign of improvement apart from possession is my main gripe and hope he fixes it somehow soon otherwise i can't see him here much longer.

I don't know what I want it's fucking frustrating. We're so so close to being awesome, everythings lined up and most of what AVB's done has been good. It's just a few small things and mindsets that are completely fucking us up and although easily correctable he's not demonstrated over the last year or so any change.

I felt it was the right time for Harry to go and I don't want us to sack another manager but unless there's a drastic turn around in our play over the next few games I can't see any other outcome, I don't really have faith in AVB to be able to do this tbh

AVB is far to stubborn for his own good. And a result such as this is probably what he needed to get a wake up call. Stubborn people only change when they are forced too. We would probably have been better off with a good spanking earlier on in the season but there is still time if he changes things to save the season.

I think AVB has got this one covered as I can't see him changing his ways i.e. being obsessive about winning the possession at all costs.

Regardless of what I feel - and I'm just pretty numb atm tbh - I just don't think this is gonna work out.

Disappointed.

Whatever everyone is feeling now, we've got to give the guy until the end of the season. Otherwise we just make ourselves look like a bunch of ****s and who knows, maybe we'll look back on all this 'AVB out' stuff and laugh. Maybe not, but the end of the season is the time to judge it.

My position is that I would give AVB another 2 or 3 games (and ONLY another 2 or 3 games) to demonstrate a drastic and immediate improvement in our performances, which I would expect to be mostly sustained throughout the rest of the season. Anything less than that, and IMO he has to go. So while I wouldn't be giving him his P45 tonight, for me he's a ****-hair away from being sacked and so on that basis I had to vote "AVB out" rather than "AVB stay" because that's closer to the reality of how I'm feeling, albeit not quite that cut-and-dried.

Not really keen on AVB when he came however was prepared to give him a chance. Similarly, wasn't entirely happy last season as I believed that Bale carried us in an attacking sense.Just somehow didn't think AVB's ideas could be transferred to the Premiership that easily. Don't think he'll last past Xmas but we should give him a chance till then. Not much time I know but can we afford to go past then as we can't possibly give him any money to spend in January if we're going to get shot of him in May.
