So I would say we definitely have the best squad since I have been a spurs fan (94).

Which team do you think is better from our best poch team, to our team now.

____________Lloris___________

Walker____Toby___Jan_____Rose

____Wanyama____Dembele

Son______Eriksen____Dele
__________Kane_______

Obviously with Poch as the manager.

__________Lloris____________

Aurier__Toby____Dier____Reggie
_________Hojberg__________
___Ndombele___Lo Celso
___________kane________
Bale________________Son

With Jose in charge.

I feel that in a one off match that the Jose team would cause the Poch team problems with the low block and fast counter.

That Poch team was some team though, gave me some of my happiest moments as a spurs fan.

The key battle there is that famous Poch double pivot. Wanyama and Dembele in their pomp, absolutely dominated every midfield it came across.

Edit: Also, Jan and Toby... Like having Superman and Captain America in your team.

That Poch team was awesome and probably better man-for-man, but they struggled to break down solid low blocks at times. I would say the Mourinho team is a more efficient unit and harder to play against.

I would rather watch the Poch team play football, as others have said in their prime that was an incredible team. As to who would win that could change in every match.

Will be very interesting to see what this current squad does over 38 games in the league, they are definitely more street smart than Poch's team.

I do not think we have a best team yet under Jose, and if we do it is not the one you list as that team has not played a single game together. Arguably the best team is the one that started versus Man C last week as it can defend better than the team you posted.

The Poch team was superb. We had the best centre back pairing in the league, 2 full backs who could get up and down the pitch all game long, 2 physical players protecting the defence then the playmaker, inside forward, an attacking mid ghosting into the box getting goals and assists then the best number 9 in the league.

It really was an excellent team with quality players.

Unfortunately the squad was a bit too weak to win anything and eventually we burnt out.

The current squad is stronger and more tactically astute. We should be able to pace ourselves better, have better longevity and adapt more now.

Eric Dier started over thirty league games in all of his first four seasons, three of which are our best ever three PL seasons. You can’t exclude him from the best Pochettino team. Your inclusion of Wanyama suggests you mean 16/17, when he played in a back three with Toby and Vertonghen. Sons started were pretty much split with Dembele, with Ellen going into Cm when Dembele was out.

Also, debatable that season Davies had a bigger impact than Rose, actually chipping in with a few assists as well, so one could argue that if that seasons team is your best Pochettino team (and based on points it should be) then he needs to be in it.

To ponder the same question but in a different light: Poch team with Mourinho manager or Mourinho team with Poch manager?
-> Poch had the best team.

Lloris, Kane and Son of 20/21 are better than the same players of a few years back.

I'm still not sure which midfield is better though.

Agreed. It's a travesty that those boys won nothing with us.

Back four was better then, the attack is better now. Big question is the midfield as the current one is yet to really play together. In fact I'd love to see a game of keep ball between NDom and the Moose. Would be incredible watching them try and get the ball off each other.

Fact is though if both teams met Jose would no question have the tactical edge and would win more games than he lost.

Poch 1-11 is the best team we've ever had in the Prem era, that 2016/17 season was unforgettable for all sorts of reasons but that team was unstoppable.

Poch's team. If this team gets more than 86 points or wins something then we can crown them. So far we've had 9 league games.
