I think the club should leak some of his shortcomings, getting beyond a joke now.

As A&C said, it's been going on for years. The only thing getting people's backs up is that it's Harry saying it.

I'm not sure how Steven "I'm not sure whether i'm going to retire from England" Gerrard is being so fucking sanctimonious about it. Surely if he cared that much about his national team surely the answer would be, without hesitation, "i'll always be ready to play if they want me".

Wish he'd just syuck with facts - like the last time England WC squad had no Spurs players was 1958, and we didn't get out of the group. Roll forward to 2014, no Spurs players in WC squad (due to injury) and we don't get out of the group.

HR has his 5 minutes in the media - and no waves created.

But no, not his style

Retiring from international football to prolong a club career and dodging games because you can't be arsed are two very different things.

I think it was Scott Parker he was to busy going round in circles in middle on the pitch to play for England

I know we as fans don't know the players personally but we do get a good impression of their passion and desire for the game.

Out of all those players I can't fathom 2-3 that would do that and by the sounds of how O'l Candleface put it on a few occasions.

Lennon possibly. No real evidence for that assumption.

My guess is that Harry is embellishing a single incident. Because he's a attention seeking knobhead.

Yeah agree. Can't think of any of them who would do that.

Even Lennon, I guess most people's first guess...he works pretty hard when he plays for us, tracks back and all...these things help you build a picture.

It won't be Defoe, Dawson or Walker that's for sure.

Darren Bent, for some reason, was the one I thought of. Simply because he knew he wasn't good enough to get a real crack at it.

Don't agree and this is starting to wear thin.

Lets get it straight, its always Harry making this sort of comment - always. What other manager makes this sort of comment?

If it was an isolated sort of remark, fair enough but its just relentless.

Yep if we are to believe harry(!) than lennon as it just seems plausible or crouch based on the fact he pulled out of a standby list, has a child etc.

However quite why Harry has to make these remarks is beyond me. Didn't he let us down enough in his last season with his court case, England flirting and the 10 point collapse without dragging the clubs name through the mud even after he's gone.
As others have said there's every chance this is an exaggerated tale and the player had his reasons for wanting the time off.
If this does go on it won't just be at our club, but we're the only one with a rent a quote ex manager.

Indeed, he has a bad case of verbal diarrhea.

Lennon hasn't been selected since the cigar incident. Even when he's been on form, it seems that any other winger will be selected over him, even Townsend, who is by most peoples reckoning, Lennon's reserve at club level.

When Hodgson states he could have an educated guess over 1 Spurs player, I believe it's probably him. If that's the case, we have a player who has not been selected by a manager, who to the best of my knowledge has never even been on the same training ground as the player, purely because of poisonous rumours.

The fact that Redknapp is spouting innuendo that there are 2-3 players can't be good. Any Spurs or former Spurs player is going to have questions against him regardless of form.

I'm sure someone will know, but I thought that when Redknapp left, part of his compo package was that he agreed to keep quiet about any internal club workings. Is this right or am I mis-remembering?

Look at all you lot. Suspecting Lennon with no evidence. Shame on you. You don't judge a book by its cover.

Way to throw people under the bus, H. FFS.

Always thought you took way too much personal shit over your management etc but really, you have as much integrity as your worst enemies accuse you of. Even if unintentional. You're a narcissistic moron at best.

Redknapp will be apologising for this soon.

The players concerned could sue him for defamation.

What a twat.

Unlikely in the extreme but it would give me pleasure to see H in civil court over this. Talk about tarnishing a person's reputation. The press won't drop this I don't think. Especially when Ingerlund's last match is over and the month-long post-mortem takes place in earnest. Expect every question you get to be about this, H.

Plank. Put up or shut up.

Redknapp is a talking disaster. Glad we got rid of him. Those Redknapp lovers should take into consideration that this general disloyal behavior of the man meant he had to go. I don't care if we played some entertaining football with him in charge. You can't trust a man who speaks out of his arse whenever he feels for it.

The great Jimmy Greaves did. After he was left out of the 66 Final, he was still called up to the squad and was rarely played. I think it was in 69 that he told Alf Ramsey not to bother calling him up if he's not going to get a game, and that ended his England career.
