He wasn't as crap as people would have you believe, but he wasn't great. He suffered from the fact that we bought him as a Klinsmann replacement in the same summer that Arsenal bought Bergkamp... However Chris actually scored more goals than Dennis in their respective first seasons.

Most people just don't know that apart from two seasons out injured, he had another 2 playing through injuries when his form was poor.

By the time he got fit again, 4 years after he first went off against Everton, in the first game of his second season, he had a great spell. He scored 14 goals in 14 league games for us around the time we won the league cup. Then he got injured long term again and left a couple of years later..

Apart from being a good finisher and having smart movement in the box, he was credited by Keown as being the strongest player with their back to goal in the league.

My Dad saw him in Loughton high road the other week btw....

Funny you should ask…

This isn’t Dele Alli still waiting for a move away from Spurs by the way…

Hope he does better, a violent attack on a shop worker at 3am doesn’t scream “my life is in a good place”

We may joke but it's a real shame to see a former spurs player going down this path.

I hope he improves things for himself.

I remember him refusing to celebrate a few goals towards the end of his career with spurs, as he took an awful lot of stick
