Like most Spurs fans, Gary Stevens was my favourite player when I first got into football and supporting our club. I obviously don't need to explain my reasons, we are all on the same page here.

If we are relegated it will be really gutting. It will be history before we know it, though, and something the younger members here tell their grandchildren about:
"It wasn't always league titles and champions league glory you know. I remember when we were relegated from the premier league in a dramatic season that saw us sack three managers and beat our chairman to death with a young man u player."

Lineker, he was my hero and when he joined Spurs I started to support them and Gazza added loads more to that. Dunno why but didn't support Barca when he played there

Started at the age of 4 (1984) from hearing frequent commentators say 'Spurs continue their proud heritage playing football the right way/a great passing side/beautiful to watch' and so forth. It haunts me that were I born 20-25 years later I could very well be an Arsenal fan as they get that kind of press now.

Anyway, it was better than being a glory-hunter Liverpool fan like my mates. Tossers. Or like the weird kids that felt it necessary to pin their allegiance to Brighton and Hove Albion because they played only 7 miles away. Loons.

I used to get picked on mercilessly for my big nose skinny frame, some used to call me Ozzie, I was 7 and didn't realize he was actually bloody good and a world cup winner so I thought why not support him.I'd never seen someone with so much skill that I kept banging on about it night and day. My mum bought me the old admiral top circa 78-79 from Luton market, that shirt and crest meant the world to me.

First game didn't come til I was 15, Feb 1987 Home vs Leicester 5-0 , C Allen 2, P Allen, Claesen. After that I wasn't interested in anything else.

I started getting interested in football when i was a child. My dad was very happy as neither of my two older brothers were interested in football. He supported Spurs, so it was natural that I did too. We didn't have much money, so my Dad couldn't afford to go to games, but when we played on a Weekday, he would drive me round to my (much older) cousin's house, and give me the money to get into the ground, and my cousin would take me, and my Dad would pick me up afterwards from my cousin's house. That's a father's love for you. My Dad died three years ago and I still miss ringing him up on the way home after the game for a chat.

My dad wasn’t really into football but a team he did like when he was younger was Tottenham. That added to the fact I remember the world cup 1990 and the '91 FA cup final got me hooked. I'm quite obsessed now. My girlfriend doesn’t understand. I get moody when we lose (not angry per say, just moody), and I’ve warned if we go down I will probably cry.

As for stopping, I don’t think I can. Maybe when I die, but I believe the afterlife is one big game of football, hopefully I'll go to Spurs vs Arsenal carling cup semi-final 2008, and not Spurs vs whoever mid 90's period.

I come from a family of Spurs fans, there was no other choice, they were the only team for me. I was born blue and white, I will support them forever, no matter how crap we are. I haven't seen to much glory unfortunately, not old enough to remember the great 60's team. That does make any success even more sweet though. I wouldn't change my team for anything.

Well my older brother supported Spurs and when I was young I thought my Dad did too, as he lived (and still does) in Tottenham. Then as I got older I discovered that he supports Spammers Good job I followed my bro right!! Anyway one of my earliest memories as a child is watching Spurs on tv, it was a brown Feguson (roughly 1986-87) I would have been about 3 years old. Ever since I just cannot get this team out of me, I think that some people (my missus included) just don't know how it feels to truly have an affection for a team. My mum bought me my first kit when I was about 7 or 8. It was the Umbro from 92 season, felt like Superman when I put that kit on.

I genuinely feel sick in my stomach when we lose. I missed the first 2 games this season as I was in the caribbean on hol but I checked the scores on my Blackberry and boy do I wish I didn't. Seriously got me down for a couple of days. I also follow Barca and AC Milan, and have done for about 15 yrs but they don't even come close to the way I support Spurs.

I've actually tried to distance myself a bit recently since I get so frustrated and annoyed when we lose. Which has obviously happened a lot lately.
