Looks like Garth has put Bissouma in his team of the week, but get a load of his reasoning...if you can call it any kind of explanation whatsoever

"Yves Bissouma (Tottenham): For the second consecutive week Bissouma makes my team selection. The Malian was at the heart of Tottenham's performance against a hard-done-by Liverpool.

The decision by referee Simon Hooper to send off Curtis Jones was a poor one. At first glance you can be forgiven for thinking that the tackle was a bad one because you see Jones make contact with Bissouma.

However, the Liverpool's player's foot moves with the momentum of the ball, and that momentum then carries Jones's foot into Bissouma. Hooper should have seen this on the replay and didn't, which is most concerning - a yellow card was plenty.

No sooner do Liverpool feel the effect of one injustice when another one comes along, but the video assistant referee (VAR) remained conspicuously silent. Luiz Diaz's superb strike was ruled offside when you could see from the naked eye it was a perfectly good goal."

I read that and was like...... did you want to talk about the player at some point.

All these ex pro's from 20+ years ago are doing, is explaining why it wouldn't have been a red when they were playing. It's making it very clear why they are pundits and not coaches. The game has moved on but most of them haven't.
It's also funny that here, it's the "first glance" that's the problem. And for others it's the situation slowed down that's the problem.

Weirdly, all of them seem to agree it can be a red from some perspective. Yet, they continue to argue the opposite like it was a controversial decision.

I really do get that sense from some of them. One of them said that our improvement this year along with Brighton and Villa is "a surprise considering they're not part of the traditional top 6 clubs". I must have missed the last 18 years or something. Or maybe one good Newcastle season means they're already holding the door open for us to eff off and how dare we think of lingering around.

Many are still just amazed at the transformation etc but attitudes among some seem to have bizarrely become a little less enthusiastic after they've seen how we get through our "first real test of the season" with the last two games. I guess they were really looking forward to patting us on the head and chuckling to themselves as we did a 'Spursy' or something.

The reaction to one shit offside flub - something we see regularly - yesterday has been unhinged, and maybe the narrative in the heads of some being contradicted has fuelled it.
The latest clip is an emphatically titled "Spurs way off title challenge!" with a thumbnail of an enraged Neville, like they're desperate to convince everyone and themselves that we can't possibly be good again. They just can't leave it.

Give it a few months and we'll be back to the part of the cycle where Neville uses every Spurs game to talk about how Ange is perfect for a bigger club like UTD.

I wonder if they will do a sequel of Kane Neville Golfing? "You told me I should leave you bastard"

Apparently MNF are going to look at it all from a different angle tonight. Got a feeling they might go against the grain and side with the officials. That would be funny but with fat Frank and carragher on it I suspect that is remote.
I said at the start that from the only angle we've seen, it's impossible to tell the exact moment the ball is kicked. One frame further on and it could be a different story. Let's hope! I would love it if they said actually it was offside. Liverpool have been so over the top with this, acting like they are the only team ever to have had a bad decision go against them, and you can be sure they will get favourable decisions in the future.

Redknapp wanted desperately to get the England job but Levy had put in a clause making it too expensive for FA to get him (according to himself). He might not have left but it was the start of the end for him as a Spurs manager.

Just listening to the VFTL podcast and Tim Spiers just said that when we scored the winner there were loads in the press box who were visibly angry that we had won the game. Quite illuminating.

They all also said on the pod that the Liverpool statement was ridiculous.

I imagine some were frustrated that they would have to rewrite their copy but some were probably Liverpool fans.

Isn’t this due to the frame rate on the recording.

Also why the World Cup version of VAR was using the computer generated version of events as it fills in the blanks based on the recordings.
Yes mate, but just one or 2 frames more and people are offside.

Pundits on Soccer special all saying that the points could be important to Liverpool at the end of the season.
FFS they we’re down to ten men and more than likely would have lost the game, still 60 minutes to go.

Let's hope they get relegated by 1 point. It'll be marvelous
