😃 Fucking love these. But it just doesn't feel quite right reading all these compliments from opposing big teams 😂 Especially Ch£l$ki! It's like I am in a parallel universe!

What year is this and who is the president?

Just a small correction if I may:

Chelsea will never be a big team.

What I recall is that the refs were very, very kind to them that year. Leicester won 13 penalties that year. A record only surpassed by ManU in 2019-20. On defence, Huth and Morgan, both slow as molasses, were holding onto everything in the box and rarely did the ref give a penalty. They only conceded 4 penalties that year. In midfield Kante was fouling all potential trouble, yet he only received 3 yellow cards that season!!! That smile of his got him out of a lot of trouble.

I'm not going to say there was a conspiracy by the league, but it could be argued that the refs got caught up in the "cinderella story" as well.
Definitely a conspiracy / outright collusion by the end

I remember Leicester losing 4-1 to West Brom with a minute of normal time to go and James Vardy sneezed as he was about to take a shot and the referee awarded him four penalties and later Vardy was seen to slip a linesman a Mars Bar and a packet of Polo Mints which the commentator said was an old tradition and not in any way irregular.

Now I'm not saying the match officials were corrupt but when the final result came in (Leicester won 5-4 after the last penalty was retaken 3 times) the referee was seen to dash off quick to William Hills and come out with a large brown paper bag under his arm and cycle straight round to the local car showroom, shortly after driving away in a brand new Ford Puma ST with a Leicester City scarf flying from the bendy aerial.

Make of that what you will but I’m sure it was all perfectly innocent.

Ford didn't make the Puma in ST trim back in 2016.

It must have been a Focus.

All your names are noted for when I’m proved right. Boy will you all have egg on your faces. 🤣
Yeah, I very much look forward to Leicester being stripped of the 2016 title for using illegal PED's, and the title being given to second in the league *checks notes* Arsenal

If we go head to head v Man City or I don't know Liverpool in a close title race this year, you can bet your life most teams will bend over for us.

Anyone got any comments from sidcup forums?
Just had a quick look, and its mostly moaning about the 269 bus route, parking availability at Queen Mary's Hospital, questioning wether Sidcup Golf Club is a real golf course, and is the Charcoal Burner the shittest pub ever.

Nothing on our game though.

Maybe crazy. But My view nonetheless. Where are you going to get odds like that from? Not like it hasn’t happened in other countries/Sports. Company owned by Thai billionaire. They were a point from being relegated the season before? How many games did you watch where they got away with blatant penalties. I’m not saying it was top down. But like points shaving you can give a team an u fair advantage. Didn’t they also have zero injuries the entire season. Both Vardy and Mahrez were supposed to be out for weeks with injuries. And then miraculously recovered. There was a big thing that got swept under the carpet about blood doping.

Just because it’s crazy. Doesn’t make it untrue.
Regarding the blood doping, there were credible rumours that Claudio Ranieri travelled to the Vatican vaults and when he returned the next day he fed Vardy and Mahrez what many believed to be two drops of the blood of Christ from a small ornate vile. Now I’m not saying it’s true but they were fit to play the next game.

Some of this Leicester stuff sounds suspiciously like the nonsense other fans go on about us this season. Making up some conspiracy because we didn't win it. They won the title fair and square.
Yes they did but that doesn’t change the fact that some teams didn’t try very hard against them while having a real go against us. It’s just human nature. Less successful teams wanted Leicester to win the title because they saw them as one of theirs getting one over the big boys.

I never said there was a conspiracy. It was more them riding a wave of good feeling. I don't care what you say, there were some teams who lay down and gave them the easiest possible games. In the end, it was just a culmination of circumstances and ultimately we weren't good enough. If we'd been mature enough to hold on to the lead against 10-men Arsenal or beat a terrible West Ham team then things may have been more interesting.
Those two games along with the loss to Leicester at home are what lost us the title. The Leicester game was a 6 pointer but even with that loss if we’d beaten West Ham we would have gone top. Beating Arsenal in the next game would have seen us pull ahead of them. Those 3 games cost us 11 points difference with Leicester. If we’d won all 3 we’d probably have clinched the Title at The Battle of the Bridge! Unfortunately we bottled it whilst they held their nerve.

It was the Swansea game for Leicester that I always remember. Their manager also said something like 'i've got tears in my eyes thinking of my friend winning the title'

yeah, played well for 9 mins before going a goal down finally losing 0-4. Complete roll over from them

Yes, i'm still annoyed about it
They gifted them the first 2 goals and then went into sleeper mode. I don’t think I’ve ever seen another game where it looked like one team really wanted to let the other team win.

Including us? I always thought that home game when Huth scored was a real turning point.
A very Spursey goal. Walker and Toby ran into each other leaving Huth with a free header. You couldn’t make it up!
Even though we lost that 6 pointer the real turning point was in the week in March when we only took 1 point from WHU(a) and Arsenal(h).

Charcoal burner pub is long gone, burned down… it’s now a Turkish restaurant/cocktail bar…
