Newcastle and villa fans seem to be getting bent out of shape over facts.

Howe lost 3 games in his first 9. Emery lost 3 and drew 1. It's not a slight on the fantastic work both manager have done.

As for the Newcastle fan saying we have been given a stadium. The club paid for that, every thing we have achieved is through our own means.

Howe has spent more than Newcastle earn.
Newcastle fans can console themselves with a Tonali 10 month ban

Brentford was first game of the season so had no form to speak of. Utd was early too. The trouble is people are looking at our fixtures and seeing where teams are now. You have to look at where teams were when we played them. Brentford notoriously did well against the top teams last season. We had a new manager and several debutant so a draw was a good result. That was a horrible first game of the season. Utd had some good away form last season too and have had plenty of time under Ten Hag so another tricky game. This fantasy that our fixtures are kind is nonsense. I was worried about the start and really surprised we have as many points as we do. I thought it would take longer to transition given how we played last season. We're o ly getting started too.

I'm just so confused how fans of teams like Newcastle and Villa have such a disdain for us. So weird.

So basically in Liverpool, if you have a semblance of self decency, any social awareness and an iq of over 50 - you support Everton.
I lived in Liverpool for 9 years and the vast majority of my mates there are Evertonians. Make of that what you will

Their fans are dicks. I remember when we played them under Redknapp and they unveiled a huge picture of the character droopy dog taking the piss out of redknapp. All very weird.

Hmm not sure about that one.

An acquaintance said to me this afternoon, "a routine win to go back top after everyone else played and went above you this weekend seems different."

It does a little tbf. Not that it means ermehgherd, we're winning da leeg! But the almost total lack of drama yesterday was most welcome.

Just impressive how quickly a marked shift is being seen by not just us Spurs fans. Not even ten league games into his reign yet. Imagine how good we'll be after a full season and more additions to the squad under Ange?
I dunno...I guess it is a bit more impressive to do the quadruple after only doing the double this year...🤷‍♂️

Most Liverpool fans are tourists from obscure back waters across the globe, such as Merthyr Tydfil and Cork, where the gene pool is notoriously shallow..

Also, traditionally it's harder to play promoted teams in Aug/Sep, when the sun's shining, the players and fans have belief they can survive, as opposed to Dec/Jan when the players are depressed, the realisation has set in that they are gonna struggle for the next win, and their squad is knackered.

Does the evidence back that up? Genuinely curious as to what promoted sides PPG are in Aug/Sep as opposed to Dec/Jan

Not sure, but the grind of the PL season defo wears the smaller teams down.
I have the exact same feeling.

Meeting the promoted teams in the first 5 fixtures, especially away from home is much much harder than when you reach late autumn and their early tenacity and optimism has faded.

I dunno man, having teams facing relegation in April/May, when they're fighting for their lives (and pay cuts) is by far hardest.

Yeah, maybe although sometimes the rut's so bad by then they can't get out. Depends on new manager bounces and other factors too.

They also tend to struggle with injuries as the season goes on as they rarely have the squad depth. Although Forest seemed to sign about 50 players when they came up.

They're all obsessed with this easy start, its being overstated massively as a defense mechanism.

Its the PL, there isnt too many easy game these days.

We are light squad wise but this is countered by no European football.

But we're going to hear all this non stop because its much easier than actually giving praise.
Strange how the teams you beat have less points because of it.
