Rarely have I seen an ex player speak with such obvious enthusiasm and fondness about one of his club’s main rivals.

It doesn’t bother me but it’s unusual to see it.

He's an Arsenal fan and was a failure at Spurs.

I guess being a fan takes precedent.

Don't mind Darren Bent at all to be honest, comes across as a really decent bloke on the radio.

Look obviously if you pick an 11/0 lineup on these things you are doing it for attention, but the funny thing is in previous years you might have agreement between spurs and arsenal fans on about 8 players. Now, I would say almost every position is debatable, but I wouldn’t expect an arsenal fan to be picking guys like Udogie or Porro or Mickey yet, and many of the guys I would pick are coming off down seasons (Romero, Bissouma etc). So it’s one of those where each individual pick is just about defendable but the whole thing looks ridiculous. Note this doesn’t mean I agree with it before anyone jumps on….

To be fair on paper player for player we just edge it. Players like Udogie, Bissouma, Maddison, Son and Romero would get into a combined 11. It all depends if we can actually turn up on the day, which we haven’t for more than 10 years. It will be a hell of a test for our boys, but even if we marginally lose this and give it a good try, I will see this as a huge step in the right direction.

I honestly don't know what to make of this upcoming game. When I have seen a game against decent opposition then I may be more confident. Or maybe I've been too scarred from the past.

As I said though I'm away for the weekend, and with 2 gooners amongst the 7 of us. We'll watch it in the pub and I'll hate it. Lose and they won't give me hassle - just subtle grins, win and I won't be able to give both barrels - just pretend to have a serious discussion. Ha!

This isn’t aimed just at you mate, but I can’t help but feel a lot of our fans are getting way ahead of themselves.
the early signs under Ange are good...very good, but we’ve played like 5 league games and people are almost expecting us to turn them over, at their ground, where our record is fucking dreadful.
I see this as a free hit for Ange...would love a positive result but won’t be losing my shit if we get beaten.
Right now I’d snatch your hand off for a draw.

I agree, I’m not expecting us to pump them, but I feel more confident going into this than I have for a long time. There seems to be a different mindset with this group.

Bent earning his TalkSport wage by dropping the bait. Anything “considered” doesn’t generate the deluge of calls which generates income. Be controversial and watch those ££s drop.

Don’t waste any energy

I'd take either of Micky or Romero over Gabriel, but Saliba is the pick of the bunch imo. Udogie over Zinchenko and Bissouma over Partey.

Maddison won player of the month so should edge Odegaard, but I rate Odegaard so can't argue that choice tbh.

Up top is tough but Son probably is the best striker of the lot imo.

Not sure Ødegaard is up against Maddison. Teams are of course a little bit different, but Havertz is their most attacking midfielder. I'd take 4 of theirs for a starting line up. Saliba, Ødegaard, Saka, and Martinelli.

Most of our lads are to untested in these big 6 pl derby games. Id honestly only put Bissouma and Romero in the combined 11 with Udogie as someone id expect to be in the side by the end of the season. There's not that big of a difference between Maddison and odegaard to care.

Have to agree although I’d take maddison over havertz

This is the guy who got three points in total from two rounds of Celebrity Mastermind.

He’s as thick as pig shit and was a useless striker for us.
I went to school with Darren Bent. He was a few years beneath me but he once played in the same Sixth form team as me as he was supposedly good at football.

One game, I played an absolute blinder of a pass to put him clean through on goal - threaded through the eye of a needle, split the defence in half, he didn’t even need to break stride, it was fucking Hoddle-esque. All he had to do was bury it - Sandra would’ve. But he blazed it 5 yards over and ruined my big moment.

Always knew he’d fail at Spurs. The prick.

I think at this point we can all agree there’s very few good pundits or folks that are paid to talk football that should be given the time of day. Darren fucking Bent sure as shit ain’t one of them. Ignore and Keep it moving.

Noncething / SA gunner spouting tactical word vomit and sending shots at SC on arse mania

This is what happens when you dont understand football and its seems man Sp**s fans are lacking in understanding. They think eye catching performance automatically translates to being the better team? Guess that's why we won the league last season.

They are definitely better now, credit to Ange for having them playing such quality attacking football, firstly.

But eye pleasing performances do not translate into being the better team. Being able to control your opponent, keep possession to create and score chances, and withstand opposition pressure on a consistent basis will determine who wins the game.

So you Sp**s fans on SpursCommunity and other areas reading this. Yes you will attack on the weekend, but we will attack you too. We will also pressure your defensive lines at a level you havent experienced before yet this season. Withstand that, and convert that into attacks and there is a good chance for you on Sunday. You can also try and attack us, and that's essentially what our defensive discipline is about, the boring games you are watching.

But be ready, we are coming hard... with fire. If cant withstand the pressure and control we exert and respond with your own, you will lose on Sunday. So good luck.
SA gunner is an arrogant prick who uses buzzwords to make it sound like he knows about tactics and other football related stuff. He’s a fucking twerp who knows fuck all about anything and would never admit to being wrong as long as he lives. And that explanation he’s given about Sunday’s game is so basic - ‘if you pressure us you’ll do ok, but if we pressure you we might score and do ok’. Thanks for that riveting piece of info you utter fannyfart.

And judging by other similar pieces of arrogant shits we’ve seen on social media recently,, he’ll no doubt have a prime time slot on TalkSport within the year.

Coming hard with fire just makes him sound like he’s got gonorrhoea. Skanky prick.

Arsenal Mania
  • "Leave no Sp**s player uncrushed!!".
  • Man for man we have a better squad than Sp**s. And we're playing at home. I am cautiously optimistic.
  • Combined XI would be all Arsenal players except Maddison.
  • Impostercoglu is getting exposed here. 2-0 Arsenal.
  • I always feel a bit sick when we have to play this lot, just can't ****ing stand them.
We absolutely tea bagged them twice last season, would love to do it again.
  • It's a really silly message from Son, up there with Harry Kane in 2016 posting that Sp**s were lions chasing Leicester for the league title. That went well for them.
All these moronic posts do is give the opposition (in this case, us) more motivation.
  • United, Bournemouth, Fulham and Burnley? They act like they've been beating top teams.
I'd be surprised if this isn't anything but a decent Arsenal win.
  • I would like us to intensely grab their throats and squeeze.
  • They’re getting the usual treatment. Woeful side in transition and haven’t faced anybody near our level. They simply won’t be able to handle us. The Aussie and his low hanging gut aren’t doing anything at the emirates.
  • We’re gonna smash them, like we usually do.
Game will be similar to PSV tbh, Postecoglou plays nice and open. We’re a different level to them.
    3-0.
  • They're a decent team. That's all they are.
If both teams play to their potential. Arsenal is going to rout them.
There's a reason we're one of the favourite to end the PL while they're just hoping to get top 4.
That said, we have to bring our A game.
Smash them and kill their moment and damage their fragile mentality and watch them go on a poor run.
  • Please, God, let us humiliate these fvckers!
  • A win here just to remind the world that Sp**s are ****.
  • This game has all the signs of it being a great NLD. Sp**s playing decent attacking football and Arsenal starting to find some proper form. Will be torture to watch of course, but either way the game goes I will be getting drunk as ****
  • Confidently predict a 4-0 win to let them know their place in the pecking order.
  • This game is going to be a reality check for them and their fans.
When they had Kane there always was that one player/aspect you had to fear. But that's gone now. Now they're just a decent team punching above their weight. That bubble is going to burst on Sunday.
  • Fancy this one to be over by HT. Arsenal 4 Sp**s 1.
  • I'm confident in our team, but I'm wary at how many fans are treating Sp**s like they're going to be walked over. Think we've got to remain a bit humble, the team hasn't achieved anything quite yet.
  • Should batter these guys. Kai to get his first goal too, I’ll quote this
  • We need to batter these pretenders.
  • Gonna be end to end this, Perisic out now aswell. If they come at us we will kill them.
  • 3-1 win. Vieira with two goals and Saka with one goal.
  • I think Vieira can handle the Sp**s midfield
  • 4-0 to Arsenal. Son cries himself to sleep...
  • They will come out and try and stamp their authority, that is something you can respect. They won’t play as cowards as we’ve seen in years gone by and that's not a dig at you, Sp**s fans.
  • Shut down Maddison you shut down Sp**s everything goes through him.
  • Sp**s due to be found out and it's getting to that time of the season when that typically happens.
  • Combined 11 should be all Arsenal. You could make a case for Son over Trossard, but that's it.

There are 3 more pages that I didn't have time to look through. I should probably try to get some work done...
