Yers, we should be aware they are a good team. But look at the choices here. Im right up for this selection.

We've got Mane, Salah and Bobby (assuming he's ready) up front, and can call on Shaqiri, Origi and Daniel if need be.

Hendo, Gini, Milner and Fabinho for midfield, with the possibility of Keita and Ox being able to feature.

Two best wingbacks in the world in Robertson and Trent, and a colossal pair of CBs right now with Matip and VVD, to say nothing of Alisson.

Yes there might be a little bit of rust in a few places but Spurs have to stop us scoring for 90 minutes and manage to score against us. I don't know much about their team beyond Kane and Son, except that Lloris always seems to have a mistake in him - I'd put him roughly at Karius' level.

Of course I'm confident and I've already said we're not going to lose. But looking at the players we have available, something truly crazy would have to happen for us to lose this? Mass food poisoning maybe? (Thank goodness for Ramadan if so - Mane, Shaqiri and Mo wont be eating!

We could be playing Accrington Stanley in the final next weekend and I'd still be nervous, it's just one of those things where you never know what's going to happen. Spurs can match us but they won't, think we'll just be too much for them in the end. Bloody UEFA tweeted about the 2007 Final yesterday as it was 12 years yesterday, that just made me want to win this thing more.

Its the bit in bold that really annoys me...some of their comments defy logic.

I mean it's a pretty reasonable comment, he's backing his team to have the edge but says we can match them. No need for boiled pissed, he hasn't wrote us off, the but they won't bit is maybe annoying but he elaborates as to why he thinks that, it's pretty reasonable.

Thats actually one of the more considered posts on there... I read a few last week that would back up and strengthen your comments on not being level headed.

The majority on there do really think theyve already won it... there is backing your team then there is arrogance...

They live for nights like this so much that of the 3 finals they've made since 30 years they've won 1 (in the most unlikely way possible) and lost 2.

Real Madrid are a club that "live for nights like this" which is why they've won 4 of the last 5. Liverpool are certainly not Real Madrid, aside from in the eyes of their own fans, who are so delusional that they won't ever be able to admit their own weaknesses/faults.

This thread is probably never more worthless than when we play them lot because all they come out with is self righteous, arrogant BS.

I’d imagine it’s a rules based thing the mod(s) can set up and I’d probably code it as a regex that replaces the words in the text string before it gets to the database record (for all intents and purposes, before it shows up on the site). Just one take on how to do it though.

But back on topic, landlord of my local is a ‘pool fan. Asked if I was watching the final there and asked to make a pact that whoever won didn’t celebrate at the final whistle in the face of the loser ?
I declined and will be watching elsewhere ?
