From Downatthemac. The Huddersfield fans are really optimistic about this game.

To be honest I'm not even going to put myself through the torture of watching it when I could be doing something for more useful. We all know the script.

Tottenham.

One of the few clubs we had not played in a long long time, most fans had not even seen the two sides play against each other, that's how far back you have to go to find a fixture between the two clubs.
It was a team we'd always look out for in cup draws, but we never drew.

Now, hardly anobody gives a frig about playing them, apart from going to their swanky new stadium.

We're gonna get a hiding, at least 4 goals I reckon.
---
That’s pretty much bang on.
I always wanted Spurs in cup, that initial excitement at the Blackpool game when we knew the winner had Spurs, used to watch in awe at Gazza, Waddle and even Lineker before he turned in to a bell.
The Premier League has destroyed all that excitement now, plus this seasons horror show.
---
Inevitable isn't it, its what Jan's brought I'm afraid, we've gone from nearly men to no chance men. It will be like a cup tie, Town the minnows taking another humiliating pasting just in case anyone hadn't noticed how shit we were.

Still at least Jan gets another chance to look at his players, does he wear a fking blindfold in training or what? He said the other week he picks the team based on how they train yet he wants to see Hamer in the game so he can judge him. You'd think he'd seen enough by now, last week alone would be enough. Its almost like he's letting his ego get in the way of doing what's best for Huddersfield Town and the team. The players must be really impressed by that.

I'd take 0-4 all day long if offered it now and fear it could be a lot worse

It really doesn’t matter now does it. Stupid league where you have a £50M squad versus £500M squads and pundits bemoaning those teams for not ‘giving it a go’ give me strength.

It’s totally killed what little interest I had left in football.

Who wants to operate Joe’s electrics and compete with curry’s, Amazon, AO et al every week? Some weeks you only have to compete against Euronics and laptops direct who only have £200M squads.

That’s not a competition. It’s fucking boring.

I know that the Huddersfield fans are a bit down following relegation but thats a shame that the Premier League has made them feel like that. I can totally understand their point aswell, as being in the Championship they will see competitive games week in week out, however they will never reach the heights in the Prem.

The more money in the game, the more the little teams will struggle to get anything out of most games, resulting in difficult seasons for their fans!

Jan Siewert has said that Ben Hamer will play in goal against us on Saturday. The Huddersfield Town fans are less than enamoured with this choice as the following Twitter polls may attest...

I'd like to say this is unfair but, if you check out his attempt to save a free-kick last week, you'll see why one of them tweeted 'I've fallen further than Hamer dives'.

It’s a fair point, the premier league, uefa etc all ignore that MOST football supporters do NOT support the small number of very rich clubs...yet the authorities couldn’t care less about the majority of fans.

FFP needs to be stricter and enforced with harsher penalties.

Got to feel for their fans. They have a point. This year the Premier league has been more skewed than ever. The top clubs feel like they are way further ahead than the shit ones.

Football is fucked and it’s genuinely sad to see Huddersfield so comprehensively out of their league and their fans reduced to falling out of love with the game.

Also shows what a remarkable job they did last season in staying up.

Down at the Mac at 4-0...

"Anyone else think Hamer might not understand the rules and is scared of giving a penalty away for handball?" :D

"Hamer on his knees. Again. No idea if he could have stopped it anyway but he collapses down all the time."

"In defence of Hamer he's brilliant at watching the ball go over his shoulder into the goal."

"To be fair the finishing has been exquisite." (y)

"It didn't need to be, Spurs just showing off." :p

"Hamer ends up on his knees more than a lass on Great Northern Street." :ROFLMAO:

I do agree with this, but the smaller clubs haven't helped themselves, they all set up the same way against the top 6, defend in numbers and try to nick something they hardly threaten, they have the mindset of not getting a tonking I really don't understand why they don't just go for it. I watched Newcastle against the gooners and if they were a bit more adventurous and I think they could have got something from that game.

I know Wolves are built a bit cheaty but they have come up and played proper football and they aren't far off EL. If you don't have the money, then the Burnley way works too. A lot of fight and heart.

Huddersfield played some decent stuff last year. As I recall they tried to play football against us last season and got a proper 4-0 chasing.

It’s not fair to say they haven’t tried to play. They just aren’t capable of competing. The gulf in quality is just too much now.

Also I can see why the Huddersfield fans were worried about that keeper. He was proper ropey.
