Of course ? I’m a hell of a lot more optimistic nowadays than I’ve ever been. Our record against teams in the bottom half before today was p14 w14. If that doesn’t relax you nothing will, but there’s always that feeling that when it really matters, we just can’t go that extra mile.

I blame Poch for calling it a cup final... :cautious:

Wait, so the Leicester game didn't really matter?

I bet if we had lost then people would have been saying exactly the same thing they say every time we lose.

I mean pivotal games. Semi finals for example. And this game would’ve taken us within 2 points off the top. All games are important of course but it’s the ones like these that I’m talking about, the ones that get us right in the mix. Because of the way it’s all panned out, this game was more important than the Leicester game in my opinion.

That said, if we beat Chelsea and then Liverpool and City lose their next games, the Arsenal game becomes our most important. And with the pressure now off, it wouldn’t completely surprise me if we got a result at Chelsea.

Apologies for taking it a little off topic.

How dare you, bomber???

To have the temerity to support Spurs in a particular way! To have emotions that others don't necessarily share! What. Is. The. Matter. WITH YOU???

And then to cold-bloodedly respond to something someone said. Something someone said recently! You absolute monster!

FRIENDSHIP OVER!!!

Well, we've never been friends per se, more like acquaintances, really....

ACQUAINTANCE OVER!!!!

Juande Ramos actually won it. Does that make Ramos better than Sarri? At least our players actually listen to their manager. :sneaky:

Shed end (Sarri seems to be the hardest word):-

Think kepa destroyed our momentum. Spurs win imo.
I would go with: Bulka Azpi Rudiger christensen emerson Jorginho kante RLC CHO Higuain Hazard

After the shift most of our team put in today - I can see very tired legs which should favor the Spurs. This is what I would like to see, but i can see us going 4-3-3 and playing the regulars.

CABALLERO
ZAPPA-CAHILL-CHRISTENSEN-ALONSO
ODOI-AMPADU-KOVACIC-R.L.CHEEKS
HIGUAIN-GIROUD

I hope Sarri swallows his pride and instructs the players to curb the expansive football and play narrow and defensive. We are in a fight for top 4 and a draw vs Spurs will go a long way for us.

I would play the same team and hope for a similar performance with light training as they seek to punish Spurs for losing the cup and put us above Utd.

The right tactics and I think we can beat Spurs.

Big Willy deserves a game between the sticks! Kepa can go tidy his bedroom or do some chores at home!

Please beat Spuds !

I'd play Hazard off the bench, he's got be exhausted after 120 minutes, last thing we want is fresh opposition players kick him off the field earfly. Keep ourselves in the game until 30 to go, bring Hazard on and we should be able to turn around a 1 goal deficit or win the game.

If the club are really gonna try and play out this 'misunderstanding' nonsense then Kepa has to carry on starting. Christensen in for Rudiger to give him a rest. RLC deserves a start. Hazard rested after a long 120 mins up top on his own, can bring him on in the 60th if we're struggling.

We had 54% and 58% possession against them in the last two games (home and away). Those kind of figures restrict Spuds to about 35 mins per game on the ball, but that means they are 55 minutes in defensive shape, that's why we struggle to score against teams we have more possession against. Last night we had the ball 39% and yet created as many if not more chances than with much more possession.

If Kepa kicks down the field as well as playing out from the back it confuses the opposition, hopefully we use this tactic again it certainly helped Jorginho yesterday.

I'm feeling pretty confident. I think we will win 2 nil.

Glad Burnley beat them on Saturday, as hopefully that defeat knocks their confidence.

I hope we are far, far, better than the last time we played them in the League.
A repeat of our Cup Semi Final 2nd Leg at The Bridge, in both attitude and performance will do me.
And of course the result is a win for us...

I'm fully embracing the new attitude and as per popular opinion yesterday, I don't mind what the result is; as long as we play well I'll be happy. And it'd be nice if the substitutions go without any further misunderstandings.

The team is very unstable and another loss against Spuds would be horrible, personally I prefer to win spuds every season every game over any other opponent.
But after so many shaky performances this season I can't expect the squad to show up and simply win and make it look easy.
Sarri should adapt for this game, make a 4-5-1 without a false 9 and play hard, start with RLC and CHO and put Higuain as the striker.

Cant see the point in the smaller kepa playing for us again. Caballero for this match plz...this chelsea lot owe it to themselves as well as the fans to bring some happiness to chelsea fc by curbing once and for all the filths prem attempt...end of.

Play like we did yesterday ,sing like we did yesterday and there will be only one winner.
Up the Chels

feeling a lot more confident about this one after last nights performance, ffs if burnley can and chelsea can not !!

Caballero deserve to start this.

Why? Because he couldn't come on Sunday? That's hardly "deserving", that's feeling sorry for him and vindictive towards Kepa. Deserving is when you're better than the others, and Willy probably isn't.

We need to play our best team, no room for sentiments.

I see Spuds are already writing us off http://spursforlife.com/tottenham-in-no-mood-to-say-sarri/
Be great to shut them up with all three points and make the top four race a bit tight for them, especially if they then lose to Arsenal as well.

Of course Kane is back, so he'll score as usual.
I'd be tempted to go false 9 for this one again, just to frustrate them and try to win it on the counter.

Oh boy, I can't remember the last time we played a game as interesting as this - I have so many questions:

1: Will Alonsos disappearance continue?
2: Against City, CHO and Ruben were the ones trusted to change the game - will that continue?
3: We found our inner Chelsea (aggressive, laying low, counter attacking) vs City and it nearly worked - will we continue in this fashion or will we return to open, possession based football which is what Sarri is hired to do?

4: Can Sarri withstand another defeat against a top six rival, or will we have a different manager vs Fulham?

This blog originally served multiple purposes, one was as the channel homepage for an IRC channel, however, when IRC pretty much died, that part of the site died too. The site still provides various information on Tottenham Hotspur football club and continues being a blog for a long-time suffering Spurs fan.

Obviously!

A few of them are getting cocky, we need to smash these ****s into dust!! If there's a time for Harry to regain his form, it's this game! He loves a NLD goal...

From ArseMania:-

I think he'll play the same team that beat Southampton with Geundouzi replacing Torreira (sadly).

Leno
Jenkinson kosh mustafi kola
Torreira Ramsey
Mkhi Özil Auba
Laca

Wouldn't dream of guessing Unai's line-up but he must continue to start Mick and Mes.

Couldn't face them at a better time tbh. We're high on confidence, while they're on a low. I'm optimistic about our chances there and expect a good performance/result unlike in recent seasons.

Kane doesn’t look fit, wouldn’t be shocked if he was on the bench to start this one.

So excited for this. I feel a bit optimistic. COYG!!!

**** sake there's plenty of claims to be starting in the attacking areas, then there's the conundrum of 3 at the back or 4 at the back. I'd guess it'll be 3 because that was part of our success vs Spurs the last time. It's also hard to see Mkhi being benched on current form, while I honestly don't think Emery planned starting Özil.

I'd guess this.

Leno
Sokratis Koscielny Monreal
Lichsteiner Torreira Xhaka Kolasinac
Mkhitaryan Lacazette Iwobi

We'll ruin them.

Is it too early to start predicting when Totteringhams day might be ?

Mkhi will 100% start, Özil not so sure but he should. Auba and Lacazette will. This would be my team and I think it's our strongest:

Lacazette
Auba - Özil - Mkhi
Xhaka - Torreira
Kolasinac - Kosc - Sokratis - AMN
Leno
Wouldn't surprise me if Guendouzi starts instead of Özil and we match the weird formation they play.

I am one of his biggest fans, but I wouldn't start Özil vs Spurs. He doesn't suit those games, after watching us beat them at home I just think Özil doesn't fit. Tough call for Unai.

A win here and we'll be 1 point behind Sp*rs

I'm not so sure Auba plays in this one. Doesn't really offer enough off the ball to start out wide in a game like this and at the minute Lacazette is in better form.

Ramsey will definitely play in place of Özil, Mkhi and Iwobi have also secured their starting spots.

Leno
Mustafi Papa Koscielny Kolasinac
Xhaka Torreira
Mkhi Ramsey Iwobi
Lacazette

Not necessarily, Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko are a shaky pair. Winks doesn't really do anything and Sissoko is very sloppy- he offers a good physical presence but little else. If anything they'd have hell tracking Ramsey's runs and it could work in our favour.

It's a good time to play Spuds. They've taken back to back L's, Kane isn't quite fit yet and Son seems to be half the player when Kane is indeed in the side. We on the other hand have a lot of in form players and are can seriously damage them.

I can't see us keeping a clean sheet, so I wouldn't bother with a back three. Let's try and hurt them with our attacking prowess;

Leno
Lichsteiner Koscielny Sokratis Kolasinac
Torreira Xhaka
Iwobi Özil Mkhitaryan
Aubameyang

Subs: Cech, Nacho, Mustafi, Elneny, Guendouzi, Suarez, Lacazette.

Tough decision to keep Laca on the bench, but I'm liking the idea of having one top striker in reserve. Auba destroyed them at The Emirates and I fancy him to do something similar at Wembley.

Gonna go 1-3. A win here and we pull Spuds back into a top four battle, and if any team can absolutely **** it, it's them.

COYG!

I'd play Auba on the left and Lacazette in the middle. I have a feeling there will be lots of chances and we need to be clinical.
Fairly certain both Auba/Laca play, otherwise Auba wouldn't have been subbed after 70 mins.

How has Iwobi secured anything?

Anyway, Spurs are falling and we're in the ascendancy. I hope we don't become Charity FC on Saturday and help them regain their confidence. Smash them and let them fall into the top 4 dog fight

Don't jinx it, boys. Caution.

Bit worried about the fact they’ve lost two on the bounce weirdly enough.

Momentum's a big thing at this stage of the season. They've been getting away with it and now their luck has run out. We'll beat them and they'll collapse in Dortmund too.

Dortmund did beat Atletico 4-0 at home but they seem to have stalled a bit recently, they'll have Reus back I think so anything could happen.

I don't have one particular reason, but I seriously don't like Son. Overall Spurs have many players, you can easily hate
W3ZIG2h.gif

We haven’t beaten Scum away since Flamini scored 2 in the League Cup. They should’ve liquidated after that ffs. Three Ls in a row for them would be golden.
t2zpTuQ.png

I’m more worried about MU at home. They seem to have an annoying confidence about them.

They’ve done well recently but I don’t think I can be confident in any big game when Jenkinson/Lichtsteiner will be at RB.

Would be delighted with a draw.

Yeah, its basically do or die for them on Saturday. Their poor form will only make them more desperate and antsy for a result.

I would love it if we went there with the intention to frustrate them from the first minute. Too often we let the opposition dictate the pace of the game. When our opponents are playing at a high tempo, we start to rush things to try and match them instead of killing the game dead.

I can see Spurs flying out of the blocks on Saturday trying to get an early goal and impress their fans. I want Emery to tell our boys if a Spurs player looks in their direction go to ground and take an age getting up. Take a leisurely stroll over to the corner flag whenever we get a corner and don't rush any free kicks.

Wind them up into getting a red card or making a stupid mistake because they're the ones desperate for a win whereas a draw suits us down to the ground. Then score a goal or two from a set piece or on the counter.

If we try to go there and match them blow for blow, it might not work out in our favour. Do to them what Chelsea and Ferguson's United used to do to us.

Torreira to bag a brace to start the 2nd half. Or at least score one and draw a penalty. He’s gonna haunt Spuds for the next decade.

We cannot lose this one. Would put us back at sixth probably with Spurs 7 points ahead.

Coyg!

Start Ramsey because he's a big game player and Mhki Özil and Laca who we can't disrupt good form for. Auba off the bench, he's looking a bit dodgy at the moment.

Please ****ing win, a loss would be brutal.

Yeah Son looks half the player with Kane in the side, he was on fire before Kane’s return to fitness.

However, no Kane can only be seen as a good thing. He can score from anywhere at any time and has a phenomenal record against us.

Also, nobody seems to be talking about it but Eriksen has been shocking as of late. Bottling challenges, sloppy touches, poor final balls- the lot. Hope Torreira pockets him.

Kane out is definitely a good thing

W3ZIG2h.gif
Wembley Hotspurs ffs .

tbf to Kane, he does have a freakishly high abnormal looking grotesque forehead. It must be difficult to keep it away from others!

I wonder if we can demoralize them to the extent that they go and bottle it at the Westfalenstadion, Dortmund has a lot of players returning from injury and do really well at home

Imagine doing thee double over these clowns .

Definitely be watching this on mute so I don't hear Tottenham of the Lane when they're still at ****ing Wembley. Pricks.

Away win. 0-3. Trippier hat-trick

They've taken 8 freaking L's this season and are still 4 points in the lead. Perfect example of how damaging draws can be.

There's more, but it's lunchtime now (y)
