I just hope we put in a good performance, work hard and don't throw the towel in, really want to see us pass the ball a bit quicker and with more freedom..
This fixture fills me with a sense of despair, we gotta break the hoodoo at some point though..

I think if we still had Modric and a fit Ade then we would have a great chance of victory. Especially with AVB in charge.

I think Adebayor even more so, I think we are pretty strong midfield wise away from home at the moment, but we need Ade's quality in there to improve our overall effectiveness as a side.

I'm going to hope our Belgians inspire some play from the rest of the lot. Hopefully they can spark something.

Against the odds, I think we might actually do okay tomorrow. Hopefully the referee will have no bad decisions. The 'Gomes & Clattenberg' debacle, the Howard Webb 'penalty' call when we were 2-0 up, Mendes bla bla bla. You know, even going back a full 10 years, United were given a penalty when a challenge by the Spurs defender (can't remember who) was clearly a yard outside the area - unbelievable refereeing decsions at their place.

Hope for a win as always
Expect ref to cheat us in one way or another
Would be ecstatic with a draw tbh

I think we will lose without too much controversy from the refs

Hopefully we will raise our game against the big boys but I think the start of teh season has shown we have a lot of work to do with the new squad, new system and new tactics before we can compete with the likes of Man U

I think this away fixture has probably come too soon for us, although its the type of game that can raise effort levels but I won't be holding my breath for anything less than a comfortable Man U win

Would be over the moon with a draw

Chris Hoy as a ref and Clattenburg as 4th official so I'm expecting us to completely dominate and for them to get a 'lucky' decision in the last 10 minutes Que AVB meltdown in the media

I reckon Chris Hoy will give them a dodgy penalty, Victoria Pendleton will flag a legitimate goal for us offside and Bradley Wiggins will add on as much or as little injury time as Fergie dictates.

I expect a win! Or perhaps a draw, nothing less!

I placed money on United, and I NEVER win anything when betting... :cautious:

I want a ref who will be fair, but expect one who will be swayed by the crowd and the Man U players hassling him.

I want a win, but expect the opposite because of the above. I will be happy with a point and a good performance

Agreed, if we had Ade fit and playing I'd feel we'd have a decent chance of winning, finally. With Defoe, I'm thinking probably draw or loss. Would feel better with Lloris as well.

Hoping for three points, but thinking that we'll have a good performance and be in for a point until done over by an outrageous penalty decision awarded during this period;

So what's going on with ade? Thought he was in with a shout of playing last week. No team news yet either from what I can see.

To shun forum etiquette and to answer the question in the thread title: I expect to lose. I expect a dodgy refereeing decision. And I reckon we'll see some of the usual ****spects on here demanding ridiculous changes to our very new system.

I think we have looked good on the break this season so can see us doing some damage. This kind of fixture actually suits Defoe better than a home game where we dominate. On the break there will be space for our pacy front 3 to get in behind defenders which he is good at . I'm confident of a good Performance, the result maybe a draw but hope for a win!!!

Difficult to decide whether its better to play on the counter or try to dominate them. If we do set up to play on the counter I hope its like a trap ready to spring rather than the defence and midfield sitting deep and a few of our forwards isolated, trying to do everything on their own. Doesn't really matter if we sit deep or press up so long as the the whole team defends and attacks together. If we get too spread out and leave space then we are going to get murdered by the likes of Rooney and Van Persie

My fear about trying to play on the counter is that ATM it is very much playing to their strengths. The thing with QPR last week was that the last thing they wanted to have to do was spend most of the match defending, because they didn't really have many defenders. So their best best was to try to force us onto the back -foot and never allow us to get into our stride. I suspect it will be the same with united - they have the players up front to hurt us, so they will want to get it up to them to pressurize us as much as possible for as long as possible. Letting them do that could result in us getting goals, but it might also result in them getting more.

It's a tough one for AVB to get right.
