Yeah I can agree with that, there was moments in the season where Poch wouldn't give Moura minutes when we were doing shit which was really frustrating. I agree completely we need depth to give these players something to think about.

Oh I totally agree that Moura could and possibly should have started more games. I can only guess that Poch was trying to play others into form, and trying to keep a stable team through all the off the field shennanigans that no doubt had a destabilizing affect on the squad. It seems to me that it's not a case of favourites, its a case of building trust with players, and that takes time. Look at Son now compared to his 2nd season with us. I just think Poch's methodology can take a long time to instill in new players, but we as fans are naturally impatient.

What we do now is show intent that we mean business next season. As someone posted earlier, Liverscum lost the final last season but they continued to push on and meant business. We must do the same.

Id also keep Toby and dont care about the 25m, he and Verts were exceptional in the final in my view. If Eriksen wants to leave so be it, id bring in a couple of midfielders to add to Sissoko and Winks. Sell Trippier for a quick RB.

Id bring in a back up striker and a wide/creative forward too.

We need to push on from this, we are still in a strong position with both Arse and Manure floundering and Chelsea with some uncertainty around the transfer ban and their manager.

This is as crucial a summer as ever if not the most crucial and a crossroads we are at.

Unfortunately we have no choice regarding Toby. If someone meets his release clause and he wants to go then we wave him good-bye which in my opinion will be a huge blow.

Yeah I know - its a shame. He has been one of the top three players this season in my view just annoying. It is what it is especially as he is on 80k and will most likely get 200k somewhere else.

He won't get £200k p/w unless he leaves on a free next summer. I think that would make him the highest paid CB in the world. The £165k p/w he's allegedly been offered by us (recent ITK, can't remember who) is about the best he can hope for if he goes this summer imo, which rather begs the question "why bother?".

I love supporting spurs and have enjoyed some amazing matches and moments but ultimately supporting us for 30 years have seen us win just two league cups
.

so you've supported us for 30 yrs, but forgot about the FA Cup win?

I've supported us for 49yrs and remember us winning

3 FA Cups (1 loss)
2 UEFA Cups (1 loss)
4 League Cups (4 losses)
and 1 CL loss

we have lost way to many semi finals in that time too, something a lot of clubs haven't seen.

the trouble is the face of football changed at a time we took a nose dive thanks to Mr Scholar, and were left behind. Then came Chelsea an Man City.

I think next season is going to leave a lot of people angry.

Whether we have money or not, signing 5-6 top players, who all go and bed straight in, is just not possible in today's illiquid and expensive transfer market. Lots of clubs have money to rebuild. But they will all be going for the same players pushing prices sky high.

By not signing anyone last season not only were we poor this season (we lost 20 games regardless of a lucky cup run) but the job is even harder now that we all want more players.

No one will be sad to see Trippier going. Our worst regular first teamer for mant years. But we need a right back.

Eriksen is going, need a replacement.

We are so short in central midfield after having one of the best in Europe 3 seasons ago.

If Toby goes, Sanchez is not good enough.

The attack needs a refreshment in options it's predictable and stale.

How do you buy all that when Arsenal, Man U, Real Madrid, Chelsea, can all blow us out the water with money? You can't

Would love Palace right back, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Zaha etc etc. But that is 250 m on 4 players.

Sessegnon is an utter waste of money now. 30-40m on a potentially great left back is the polar opposite of what we need. Couldn't even get in Fulham's side, he isnt ready.

Arsenal apparently have a £40m transfer kitty. That just about buys them a Ramsey replacement. Chelsea have got a transfer ban and are going to lose their best player and their manager. United look a mess.

We have got a bit of rebuilding to do ourselves, but Trippier can be upgraded on without spending too much. Toby will be hard to replace, but I'm sure there are options available and Sanchez has already stepped in to prove he can be relied upon. If we can get the two big signings across the line we'll be in a great place to push on.

I see a lot of comments here people saying that if we spend like liverpool and plug the gaps, we will be great. There is no guaranetee, if we did spend which is questionable under levy, that those players will be as good as pools or better.

This club has always tried to play catch up and follow other teams since i have been a spursfan. For years, we tried to emulate wenger model but havent quite achieved it (no trophies, no leagues). We need to spend like crazy every year or come up something new ourselves which other teams will want to emulate. following gets you know where but innovation does.

I think this was our big moment and i dont think we will get another like this again for years, if at all.

North london owners care about business first, football second. Those northern clubs want to win trophies first, business second.

We will look back on this with great sadness but at the same time with some fondness.

I see the comment in bold so many times, yet know 1 has yet told me how we could do that in a 36k stadium now FFP is in place

That's not my intent at all. My posts on this subject are generally aimed at posts saying Poch needs to be backed or that Levy won't spend the money to bring on the players Poch wants. Both of these points are in the most part incorrect. In the past Levy has brought in players the manager hasn't necessarily wanted in order to extract value from the market. The last few windows Pochs been backed all the way as far as our resources would take us that is, because the players MP has targeted for one reason or another have not been obtainable. The club's won't sell or the player wants to go elsewhere etc. It's not in reality had a lot to do with the financial aspect. It's more so that the players he wants are in demand by the elite clubs, or the selling clubs are of sufficient status(compared to us) that they could hold their players.
i wonder if now we have got to the CL final and the stadium is build if we will not just be lurking round the edges of the top table trying to get food that drops on the floor but we will actually have a seat at the top table now and have a reasonable say. 5-10 years ago we weren’t even in the building never mind the room that the top table was in. Nice positive spin.
Also we don’t have to get 5-6 £50-70mil players we probably just need 1-2 of those depending on how many of Toby Eriksen etc leave and then we need to be astute. Liverpool bought Robertson from hull and he’s now the best LB in Europe arguably, mane was fairly expensive but he was from Southampton not Barcelona, the right players for us are out there and available I’m sure of it, we need to be decisive this summer, ruthless with the outgoings and cut our losses more than we usually would do and then aggressive with our incomings to get some of them in early.

What we do now is spend a week ranting about anything and everything, about the fact that God hates us and the referee gave a penalty in twenty seconds and took only half a milisecond to make a decision and Mane aimed at Moussa's arm purely to win the penalty and God hates us, have I said that? Well he does and fuck Slovenian referees doing Champions League cup finals.
A week tomorrow we will then become rational and look to the future and how we get there followed by a period of total irrationality about who we buy and don't buy and then back to reality and finally the gut wrenching perversity of never ending hope.
I will now take a week to rant and will then give further thought to what we really do next.
I posted this on Sunday and I thought I'd let you know that I am ahead of schedule I did rational on Monday was irrational on transfers yesterday and have today entered my hope phase but it doesn't seem perverse this time and the irrational transfers have become rational and so it seems whatever it is that we do now is under way, we are doing it and I'm rather excited.:)

We need to make significant investment if we want Poch to stay. Unfortunately, the Levy way is to either not invest or do the bare minimum to keep people from not criticizing too much. So what do we as supporters do now? Expect the same as usual. But hope for things to finally be different.

Yep just look at our shit stadium which he (i.e. ENIC) have not invested in or spent any money at all on; not to mention players like Son, Moura and Sanchez who were signed for "bare minimum".

Fucking clueless Jonny come lately fans.

Interesting follow up :

The Copa America is set to get underway next week and Lo Celso has been included in the Argentina squad after netting 16 goals for Betis over the course of the season.
The Lilywhites also have one representative in Lionel Scaloni's squad with Juan Foyth selected for the tournament in Brazil after making his breakthrough in north London.
Reports suggest that Lo Celso fancies a move to Spurs and the young defender may turn out to be the man to ensure the player chooses the Lilywhites over any other interested clubs.
Foyth will spend plenty of time with the talented midfielder in the lead up to the first game against Colombia and their other two group games, while they could potentially be together until the start of July if Argentina go all the way to the final.
Lo Celso will no doubt have plenty of questions about a move to Spurs and Foyth could prove pivotal in selling the club to the ex-PSG man.Another player who may in fact potentially prove vital to the deal is Vincent Janssen.
Betis were interested in signing the Dutchman back in January but the move never came to fruition in the end.

Spurs really do seem to be holding the trump cards regarding this guy at the moment and the chance to offload the unhappy Janssen too would be the icing on the cake for both Vincent and the club.

Been on a bit of a footy downer since the final, ref, 1st min, the way we played, the way Liverpool played (game there for the taking) but the thing that got me down the most was the thought that this was our one chance at glory (the amount that had to go right to get us there) but seeing Hercules post this morning feeling a lot more positive, if we are indeed changing our ways and joining the big boys no reason why we can't be there again...

Yes it's hard to see that amount of luck happening again which enables us to get to a CL final, with all the big European club's set to strengthen again it's hard to see the club ever returning to another one again.

Not if Baldy goes berserk and buys Lo Celso, NDombele, the Sesses, a CB and somehow pulls Bale out of his sleeve, we'll win it next year.

Because he’ll get a signing on fee the size of a euro millions jackpot
