My crystal ball tells me that West Ham will win the bid but eventually fail to progress with it.......green shield stamps not acceptable currency. Spurs will be invited to apply again within a year
west ham win with relegatopn, lots of eggs on faces as they slip down to 2nd division and obscurity, spurs step in to save the day and agree to part fund the building of a local sports arena for kids, or something
Spam will get it. Quite simply an easier deal with less parliamentary and public opposition.....plus they are offering to keep the athletics facilities.
Spurs to get it, purely as it's the best option for its future. Wham are a joke and will be playing in the Championship next season, again - surely a club which drops in and out of the prem can't get the OS?
If it's down to politics WH will win. If it's down to economics we'll get it. I think there are too many level headed people on the board to be swayed by public opinion and we'll get it (also does a conservative government really care about Labour boroughs of Haringey and Newham?)
It won't. Athletics has no shame in demanding public money for itself, and indeed, promising to spend more public money in the future. Pascoe's comments on the front page are utterly deluded, and the story is going to break in the next few months of just how much money has been spunked on this stadium. Spurs will look like angels at the end of that period, whether we are preferred bidder or not.
