The football was pretty poor playing through the pitch. Final third has been decent and a bit more energy. I don’t think we’re playing particularly well though
Have you not been watching us this season? We've had halfs where we haven't had a shot on target. Was miles better. We have been solid at the back and created numerous other chances. As good as it could have been imo

Really happy so far, certain players still getting up to speed after being out of form and the side for a while.

Think we have looked solid at the back, no pressure put on ourselves by overpaying unnecessarily. Front four all look positive, just want Kane to grab a goal now.

If we got an elite wing forward to replace Moura, a proper specialist DM and new fullbacks; would be insane.

Half tempted to say if this is the new formation (4-2-3-1) I'm not sure where GLC would fit - interesting to see if we take up the option to sign him.

Swap the fullback dynamic, GLC sits slightly narrow and the right back stays back like Davies is today.

On the other side Sessegnon/Rose get forward with Son playing inside left.

One thing I think won’t happen in the second half is us lot screaming for the obvious substitution to be made!

Dier is giving the ball away too easy and Aurier has been a little out of control at times, but we’ve been playing pretty well and taking our chances. Hopefully we pile it on here in the second half.

Excellent 1st half overall, deserved lead, lots of positives but a couple of players are still hit and miss.

Positives:
Defended very well, especially Aurier and Davies. I like how Davies is tucking in alongside Toby and Sanchez when Aurier pushes forward... makes us a lot more solid.

No more short goal kickings and reduced playing out from the back.

Corners - Winks has been poor but instead of sticking with Winks, both Alli and Son have been given the ball which has led to a couple of decent chances.

Forward play - Son, Moura and Alli’s movement has been very good. Moura has been a bit more hit and miss, he’s been over eager at times and sloppy in possession but took his goal very well... can’t doubt his enthusiasm.

Tempo - a lot better, we’ve been looking to move the ball forward instead of sideways.

Tactics - we finally looked balanced, defending as a team and allowing the forward players to do what they’re good at.

Negatives:

Dier has been poor - stupid fouls and giving the ball away.

Wink’s has been hit and miss, bullied off the ball at times and guilty of holding onto it too long.

Kane another who’s not quite been at the races. Unnecessary offsides, a couple of stupid fouls and poor unnecessary flicks at times. He’s looked more interested than of late but please keep things simple.

Get used to it. Mourinho's DMs have always done niggly fouls to slow down the play and stop the opposition.

Good so far. Aurier still looks like an accident waiting to happen and Dier needs games. But very promising. And we didn't concede a sloppy goal before half-time.

How have West Ham ended up with this keeper? He is awful.

The most encouraging thing for me has been the balance of the team. The criticisms of Diers passing so far are warranted but his positioning defensively has been superb. We’ve looked far too open in the midfield areas recently. Not today
