 - I won't bother posting loads of stats and fancy photos as I'll never do justice to Chrissivad's usual standard (Let alone TSH's) so just thought I'd start a thread up.

Tottenham will have Harry Redknapp in the dugout for Friday night's match at Vicarage Road as they look to get past Watford and make it through to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Redknapp
spacer.gif
has not been able to take a training session this week as he has been on trial at Southwark Crown Court contesting two counts of cheating the public revenue.

Assistant manager Kevin Bond
spacer.gif
has confirmed he is itching to get back to business at Watford
spacer.gif
as Spurs aim to continue their fine campaign.
Tottenham knocked out Cheltenham in the previous round, while Watford beat Bradford 4-2 in a thrilling game.

The Hornets have lost both their Championship matches since the third round to slump closer to the relegation zone, and will be determined to claim a famous scalp at home to restore confidence.

Team news

Adrian Mariappa will line up for Watford despite the current speculation regarding his future.
The centre-back was the subject of a failed bid from Newcastle

at the start of this week, with the Magpies' offer rejected immediately having been well below the Championship club's valuation of the defender.
But the developments will not prevent manager Sean Dyche

from selecting Mariappa.

Ten-goal striker Marvin Sordell, who has also been linked with a January move, will lead the line for a Hornets side who are pretty much at full strength.

Influential midfielder Jonathan Hogg returned from a minor knee injury to start last Saturday's 3-0 Championship defeat at Birmingham, leaving just long-term absentees Martin Taylor (broken toe) and Stephen McGinn (knee) on the sidelines.

Gareth Bale

(thigh), Scott Parker

(hamstring) and Younes Kaboul

(groin) are doubts for Spurs.

All three came off during training on Wednesday and are likely to be rested, while Ledley King

(knee) is also expected to sit out
Sandro, William Gallas (both calf) and Tom Huddlestone (ankle) are unavailable

Centre-back Adrian Mariappa will line up for Watford in their FA Cup fourth-round tie against Tottenham despite speculation linking him with a move.

Ten-goal striker Marvin Sordell, who has also been linked with a transfer in January, will lead the line.

Tottenham's Gareth Bale (thigh), Scott Parker (hamstring) and Younes Kaboul (groin) are doubts.

Kaboul sat out Wednesday's training, Bale and Parker came off with strains, while Ledley King is set to be rested.

Head-to-head
These clubs have played each other 24 times, with Tottenham coming out on top by 15 wins to six. • Tottenham have won four and drawn two of their last six league and cup matches against the Hornets.
• The Premier League club have never been knocked out of a cup competition by Watford, prevailing on all three occasions in the League Cup and on all four in the FA Cup. But this is the first time they are playing an FA Cup tie at Vicarage Road.

Watford
• The 1984 runners-up are hoping to qualify for the last 16 for the first time in three seasons.
• The Hornets have won only one of their last 10 FA Cup matches against Premier League clubs; 1-0 away to West Ham at this same stage in January 2007.
• The 4-2 home win over Bradford City in the third round is the only time Watford have avoided defeat in their four games in 2012.

Tottenham Hotspur
• The third most successful club in FA Cup history have lost one of their last 33 matches against lower league clubs, when they were knocked out by Leicester of the Championship in the third round in January 2006.
• The 2010 semi-finalists, who lifted the trophy for the eighth time in 1991, are eager to avoid a fourth round exit for the fourth time in five years.
• Harry Redknapp's side suffered their first defeat in 10 league and cup matches, with last Sunday's 3-2 loss at Manchester City.

Without being smug, I did expect a strong lineup but I'm not sure about the wide areas personally - if you are going to the effort of playing the likes of Modric and VdV then they should be in their rightful positions.

So you think it'll be;

Cudicini

Walker Dawson Kaboul Rose

Livermore Parker Modric

VdV

Adebayor Defoe
But it will be:

Cudicini

Walker Dawson Kaboul Rose

VdV Livermore Parker Modric

Adebayor Defoe

Everything in the past from H points to that.

I'm a little annoyed we are playing such a strong team. Any injuries could really screw up our season. Why play parker and kaboul when they are so important for us AND have injury concerns. As someone else said, the squad players not getting a game today might as well pack up and leave.
