We have reached agreement with Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact for the transfer of Victor Wanyama.

The midfielder made 97 appearances for us in all competitions following his move from Southampton in June, 2016, and scored seven times, including the opening goal in our final game at White Hart Lane.

We wish Victor well for the future.

Fair thee well. A good servant to the cause. What we needed at the time. And kind of what we need now. But not the current version.

Poch bringing him on against Leicester remains one of life's greatest mysteries.

A beast at his best. Sad it had to end like this. My favourite memory of him will always be that howitzer against Liverpool. Any of you clever Internet savvy dudes able to post it??

A free transfer is best for both sides. Vic would have struggled to find somewhere to play if a fee had been demanded and Spurs save £3+m on his salary.

Good luck to him. At his best a very good player indeed - a great pity about his injuries.

They‘re was a time, when Spurs took to the field, with Toby and Jan at the back and Victor and Moussa in front of them and we knew we’d keep a clean sheet.

Thanks for the memories.

So sad we only got one season of him at his best.

Made us such a better team and something we’d been missing in the middle for years.

We really don't have much luck when we get a top quality DM do we? First Sandro to a ligament injury, now Wanyama, again to a knee injury.

Gutted for Vic in the same way I was for Sandro.
