I hate to say it i agree , i really wanted him to do well and show a little change, we defo need to invest in another strikerSaw nothing against PSG to suggest this year will be any different for Jannsen.

I'm fucking livid. At one point, with his back to goal, he got the ball in their penalty area and he failed to turn, nutmug his marker, do 15 keepy uppies finished off by his catching the ball on the back of his neck before flipping it up and executing a perfect scissor kick volley into the back of the net.
Based on his failure to accomplish that simple task during that 45 minute first game of pre-season appearance we clearly need an upgrade
That's fine, if anyone thinks Jansen should go or isn't good enough based on last season then fair enough, I think they are wrong, but fair enough. But tagging this friendly onto that is a bit strange to say the least. In my onionI hear your point, a friendly isn't worth much but I think it's the fact that this was 45 minutes AND the entire season prior. And even if it isn't worth much, now is his time to shine (not to literally sit outside the box while KWP is whipping balls into the 6 yd area) because once the league starts he's not even close to touching our starting lineup but we also can't realistically expect Kane to play 90 every game of the season.
Bringing in another quality forward who can effectively lead the line and offer a goal threat has to be main objective between now and 14th August.. It's painfully obvious Janssen is not good enough and never will be..Totally agree...he just looks like a fish out of water...I know he is genuinely trying but he is so far off the pace of our game it's embarrassing. I'd be trying to get rid this window if I could definitely bring in a cover for Mr Kane.
"I kinda didn't like how he played in a friendly. Let's bump the transfer thread."
Said the absolute virgin.
Would have liked to see something that suggested that he would be better this season however it is hard to say anything other than it wasn't evident yet based on this friendly. That's fine, if anyone thinks Jansen should go or isn't good enough based on last season then fair enough, I think they are wrong, but fair enough. Good luck finding a quality forward who can lead the line but will sit on the bench most of the time waiting for Kane to get injured. I'm beginning to believe Janssen is the best we can get.Bringing in another quality forward who can effectively lead the line and offer a goal threat has to be main objective between now and 14th August.. I bumped it yesterday cos of a transfer link....
I agree with you mate. But regardless of his limitations, I certainly wouldn't advocate his sale, not least because I don't know anyone who's confident that Levy would spend decent money to replace him.Think we should give him a bit longer to try and integrate into the team before that decision is made.
actually this is very likely what spurs will doJansen has shown on occasion that he CAN play in the league - he changed the game for us against Swansea.
If he bags himself a few goals early on I think he'll be grand.
Also, the idea that there is some effective striker out there who will come to Spurs and play football as second fiddle to Kane - hoping to get 15 minutes here and there or some run outs in the early round of cups is ridiculous.
It's all fine and well saying "We need new back-up for Kane" but who? Who is this striker that will not cost us an arm and a leg, £100,000 a week in wages, has proven track record in the league and will be happy, realistically with less than 8 league starts and the odd mid-week run out against Rochdale in the cup? Who is it? Genuinely interested.
Jansen has his first season over him - has a full pre-season now - he didn't play well in the friendly, but so what? He could still come good and at the very least deserves to stay until Christmas. Getting rid now and focusing on getting a new striker in (again - WHO?!?!) is madness when there's arguably actual holes we can realistically fill.
Hoping he can prove me wrong but I'm yet to see any signs of improvement in him or any reason to believe he will come good
Wouldn't be surprised if we cut our losses with him and Sissoko like we have with so many others in recent windows
I think that will depend on what offers we get for him and whether we have any targets in mind to replaceAgree with the first part but I'm sure he'll be here for the coming season
