It was his first premier league game and he was up against an absolute monster in Lukaku. The guy is a beast.

You've got to remember as well that Lukaku will dominate pretty much every centre back in the league, Drogba-esque.

I thought he looked quite good today. Technical, quick, intelligent. Could be stronger though, but together with Kaboul that's not a problem. I think Verts will be one great centre back.

The first thing he did could easily have cost us a goal. But straight away he was asking for the ball, which he did all game.

Think he will become a top defender once he settles.

Loved the way he run into space and supported attacks. He will be a top class player. But he must play alongside kaboul with caulker and Gallas for cup games
