Rafael van der Vaart has urged Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp to show faith in the squad which he believes is good enough to win the Premier League title.
Van der Vaart has been a revelation since his £8 milion move from Real Madrid in the summer, with the playmaker having bagged 11 goals in all competitions so far this term.
Spurs currently occupy the fourth Champions League spot, just eight points behind leaders Manchester United, and with over a third of the season still to play, many have tipped the club to push all the way for the title.
And Van der Vaart believes the squad Redknapp has assembled is good enough to see off the forthcoming challenges.
League leaders United arrive at White Hart Lane on Sunday and the last-16 clash with AC Milan is looming large on the horizon, but the Dutchman doesn't believe there is any need to splash the cash in the transfer window.
Van der Vaart told Goal.com UK: "I'm very happy with the team because we have great players in every position, the longer the team plays together the better they will get.
"You look at the squad that we sent out the other day against Charlton in the FA Cup, they said it was a second string side but you know, they looked excellent.
"There were a number of great players that day so it shows just how good the squad is, why change? And I believe it's one of the best in the league."
And while Redknapp is unlikely to heed his talisman's words, Van der Vaart believes if the north London club go the distance this season, they'll have their manager to thank.
"The manager is key to the player's winning mentality, it comes down from him. You have to believe in yourself, it's the biggest thing in football," said Van der Vaart
"If you believe it will happen, then it can happen. And the manager’s key to that for us."
