It's a loan swap. Petrov for Bentley.
It's a loan swap. Petrov for Bentley.
Man City are going to be one of our biggest rivals this season. I just don't see the logic in making them stronger
Sooner or later we will need to find a replacement for King.
If it's going to happen I hope we get it sorted before midday. Gives us 5 hours with some oil money should we wish to make a final bid for anyone.
Same here. Seb looks an excellent buy so far. That would give us Woodie, Seb & Daws fighting for the first choice CB spots which would be healthy. We still need another to give us proper cover, but the 4th CB should be a good youngish prospect who won't get too narked warming the bench for much of the time.I think we've done that already in Bassong, I think he can really be the next King in a couple of seasons
Still does'nt make any sense RY. Petrov is into his last year of his contract. Surely Citeh would be looking to get a fee for him. As much as a flop DB has been for us so far he still has the potential to get his form back and get a place in our starting 11. Especially more considering we have Crouch upfront now!

Think Petrov is a poor passer of a football.
a great crosser but easy passes go astray regularly. much prefer playing with one winger and an AM like Modric/Kranjcar for balance
Can't see the point in signing Petrov and Kranjcar myself, and why a loan for Bentley and not permanent? Kranjcar can cover 3 positions as can GDS, Modric and Bale, Petrov can only play one position.
I see what your saying and I would rather keep Bentley, he had only left spurs lodge about 45 mins ago so it would seem unlikely that he will be able to get to Manchester in time anyway, but Petrov is quick and can cross a ball better than anybody in our squad at present.
If we can get him on a free, keep Bentley then it is all good.
They could surely fly to Manchester pretty speedily if they really wanted him there?
They could indeed, but could they do it without the media catching wind of it? Even then, it would still take him at least a couple of hours to get to an airport/strip fly there and then get to Manchester's training ground and a have a medical?
