Spain playing very well vs Italy, two nil up and Bonucci's been sent off.

France vs Belgium is tomorrow.

Why isn't that goal offside?

Gil looks a right handful, constantly looking to run in behind the defenders… definitely needs more game time for us.

Some save by Lloris.

EDIT: Some goal by Lukaku.

The wasted Belgium generation. 3 years as world number 1 team and nothing to show. Ive said it earlier this year, they are unlikely to win a thing with Martinez as manager.

Not really sure how you blame him for the first, there are two defenders in the way and he gets wrong-footed.
And the second was smashed high to the roof of the net. Impossible to stop unless you already have your arms up. Of course, then you'd be running the risk of having the ball go past you low. Not at fault for either goal, in my opinion.

It feels like a classic British knee-jerk "a keeper shouldn't be beaten at his near post" response.

It's funny because in most of the rest of Europe getting beaten at the near post doesn't attract anything like the same ire as it does in England. I know Erik Thorstvedt quite well and he brings that up quite a lot when we're discussing goalkeeping (which is part of our job).

Not at all a fan of the international break, but tomorrow Italy v Belgium (14:00) and the final Spain v France (19:45) are decent enough matches.

Really looking forward to these games tbh.
