OK cheers but my stupid brain still can't work it out if it's likely or not. It seems not likely
It means we only get five CL spots if the eight sides in European competition collectively perform to a good level next season.

So we won't know until at the earliest the end of the group stages, probably well into the knockouts, and we should want all eight sides to get to the knockouts to be fairly sure.

What a fantastic day West Ham supporters are having today - sun's out, day off work, getting the beers in and watching their beloved team parade a European trophy through the streets.

Something Spurs fans can only imagine. I'm repeating myself but these scenes should have Levy and everyone associated with Spurs hanging their heads in utter shame.

These types of celebrations for the 3rd tier European pot are a bit over the top for me. But fair play to them, enjoy the win as much as possible, when they wake up tomorrow they will still only be little old West Ham.

Hard disagree. A pot is a pot and I hate how snobbish some of our fans are about this.

Yes tomorrow they go back to being regular West Ham, but today is a very special day for them regardless of what merit you place on that trophy.

I think winning is important and we should absolutely not turn our noses up at that.

But an open bus parade? Bit OTT for me.

Ok I get they won a trophy but to call their players legends and champions of Europe after winning a third tier comp is way too far. If we won it we would be happy and maybe have a parade but we couldn’t call our players legends for winning a third tier comp. It seems this is West Ham’s bar and it’s not going to be raised any higher.

Not a lover of West Ham by any means, I hate the club, the owners, the players (Rice aside) and especially the fans.

However, they won a European trophy. For them that is akin to a Champions League. They're allowed to celebrate and enjoy the moment. I hate this you can only celebrate certain trophies mentality in today's world of football. F that. If we won this last year I would have been celebrating just as much as West Ham are.

They're certainly not champions of Europe, however they are legends in the bubble of their club (see what I did there). Bowen scored a last minute winner in the final of a European competition. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a little bit of jealously watching them win and celebrate.

WE ARE NOT ABOVE ANY COMPETITION. Stop being so entitled. We all know we'd be living it up if that was us.

Like it. You can only win the competition you’re in and they gave it their best shot.
My frustration, particularly this season, is we qualify for the Champions League then treat it like we don’t belong. Some of that was Conte’s negativity but I didn’t get any kind of feeling that we believe it was a competition we could win. So what’s the point in qualifying? Rhetorical question as the answer (for Levy anyway) is cash.

I just want us to try and win whatever comp we’re in. And I don’t begrudge West Ham for doing so.

Let's not forget they're not just celebrating winning something, which will be all forgotten by Monday. They're now in next season Europa LEague so a double win for then really.
